hollandgirl: Number one do people who say these things in their profile, have had such bad experiences that make them say this?
It is very negative and unrealistic.
I lost a loving husband in January 2005, the odd times I find myself cry for just a moment, does this mean I have bagage?

No headgames please. I wonder if those who engage in this are even aware of doing so.
I came to this forum to sincerely find a new relationship.
I believe in honesty and loyalty, I need to trust, without this there is nothing!
My trinity is Trust, Respect and Giving, (of one self)
(Read my profile for the rest)
I could say a lot more but will rest my case for now.
Jenny

Two things I have to say..

1. The only person without a baggage is the one who hasn't lived, and do we really want to find someone so empty

2. We all hope that we are not going to find a person who will play games on CS, but stating it only makes you look bitter (so even though I see their point, it doesn't look good when put on a profile).

As always, great thread hollandgirl wave

It happens to the best of us holland..don't feel bad, at least you didn't get to chat with a guy for a couple of weeks and for hours, telling you that you are great, amazing, his clone, sharing personal stories, actually MEETING in person, and then finding out that there is a possibility he is not single frustrated and worst of all.. he disappeared once I started to ask too many questions grin

Yes that experience was surely hurtfull.
What is in it for these players?
Low self esteem?

One man I did meet from CS he wanted me in his life forever.
His forever was not mine forever, however.
Had broken up with a woman, as both realized it was going nowhere.
As he told me, no drama we talked a long time and it is okay and over.

Two days after our meeting, the ex gf. stopped by his home, and yes how did you figure this out? Yeah you job lol
Both now realized how much they really loved each other.
This brought
crying crying such happy tears to my heart, as I sooo love a happy ending, don't you?
Yes I am being sarcastic here confused

Yeah, I've noticed that some of these guys are not really available.

They may say they are and offer undying love & lust.

But then the next thing you know, they're gone....back to their wives, ex-wives, girlfriends or better prospects closer to home.

Or they were never serious in the first place.

Happens with women too and guys here get suddenly dumped.

Online dating sites are a great place for cheap thrills when the old ball & chain just isn't doing the job anymore, I guess.

Depends what you mean by quickly laugh

I think some guys get "found out" by their spouses..the computer holds lots of info in the history part of a browser.

Maybe abruptly is a better word. grin

They are among my least favorite statements in the profiles myself.

The best reply I've read to such nonsense was made sometime back by the "Other Jeffrey" - that wonderful lady from Greece:

"I come with baggage...overstuffed, busting at the seams, must pay extra to check it on the airplane kind of baggage. But I have schlepped it around and I take what I need from it when I need it, put it away when I don't need it, carry it without burdening others. It's my history...my life....my experiences. Some bad, but more good. I carry the bad with me so as to continue to learn and evolve and serve as a reminder of my own mistakes, not just those of others. And I carry the good because these are the things that have made me a better person, a stronger person, a happier person. Life is baggage...we all have it. It's just that we need to know how to carry it."

No baggage, no skeletons, because it is all listed here in the CS forums!

I guess a laptop is easier to carry than a trunk.handshake
