England really creams you . It was another reason I am glad I came back here. I never had a penny to call my own when I lived in Manchester. We literally don't pay anything except €10 when we have a full bin of rubbish. or €7.50 on recycle week, but my bin might only go out once a month or two. No other charges.
The country is full of the stuff. We are up to our knees in it. lol
too true- I have reeds growing on my back lawn- thinking of planting a paddy field out there!! are they not talking about introducing water rates here??
also i may get free water but i did get to pay €800 for a water softener after replacing the dishwasher, washing machine and shower( 3 times) over 2 years because of the limescale!! and i love how they 'tested' the poll tax out on us Scots first when they introduced it

God that is fabulous!
I have to pay it still, because I still have the house there.
I suppose I could get a tenant in, but it is the children's home and it is nice for them to be able to have their friends there.

wow- my tiny bin costs about €350 a year and only gets emptied every 2 weeks!

Move to Donegal J. We seem to have the best of all possible worlds when I hear what the rest of you have to pay.
We have two collections a week for each ordinary and recyclable (alternately), rubbish. We can pay weekly or monthly or yearly. Most pay weekly because we wouldn't put it out even once a week anyway.
Despite the ridiculous examples listed above, the guy's kinda' right. The first thing a person usually tests another person is how much they respect each other. If a man is willing to bend over backwards for a woman, she has very little chance of respecting him. And it's likewise going the opposite way. There are certain tests in a relationship - psychologically proven - but they do, in fact, go both ways. We test each other, and I think we need to test each other to find out if we're actually right for each other or not.

Welcome Jack. Wanna make a point, sometimes gotta exaggerate it.

Here we have all the amenities and cross border concessions and services, but I think that the difference between here and other places is that most things here are privatised and very competative. It keeps costs down. We also don't vote for anyone locally who doesn't keep things the way we like them. It kind of even makes us different to most of the rest of the country that way.
as for the amish i am all for it.....i love their way of life....no fancy jewels on their fingers , they dont care about lady lumps either just ploughing the fields all like rhinestone cowboy hahahaha

You are correct. I agree with you.(except for the brush)
There is a certain amount of peace and serenity that simplicity provides.
