The whole world plays football - except the Americans - we need a new name for this game so it doesn't keep blocking up Google with those oval balls. Any suggestions?
I thought of "American Rugby" - though that ain't that good - probably upset those Rugby types!

I'm certain that there are more productive things you can be doing with your mind and your posts than cutting down a specific country's game that they enjoy.

That's what I fond Googling FOOTBALL
American football, known in the United States and Canada simply as football, is a competitive team sport known for mixing strategy with physical play. The objective of the game is to score points by advancing the ball into the opposing team's end zone. The ball can be advanced by carrying it (a running play) or by throwing it to a teammate (a passing play). Points can be scored in a variety of ways, including carrying the ball over the goal line, catching a pass from beyond the goal line, tackling an opposing ball carrier in his own end zone, or kicking the ball through the goal posts on the opposing side. The winner is the team with the most points when time expires at the end of the last play.

Ditto,Googleing SOCCER
Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players, and is widely considered to be the most popular sport in the world. It is a football variant played on a rectangular grass or artificial turf field, with a goal at each of the short ends. The object of the game is to score by manoeuvring the ball into the opposing goal. In general play, the goalkeepers are the only players allowed to use their hands or arms to propel the ball; the rest of the team usually use their feet to kick the ball into position, occasionally using their torso or head to intercept a ball in midair. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is tied at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time and/or a penalty shootout, depending on the format of the competition.

When was 'American football' first played?
The history of American football can be traced to early versions of rugby football and soccer. Both games have their origin in varieties of football played in the United Kingdom in the mid-19th century, in which a ball is kicked at a goal and/or run over a line. Also like soccer, American football has twenty two players on the field of play. Furthermore, some player position references from soccer are used, such as the term "halfback" and "fullback".

In England (the country where the language originated) the term 'football' is used for what Americans call soccer.
Of the 45 national FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) affiliates in which English is the main or official language, only the federations of Canada, Samoa, and the United States have soccer in their names. In both Australia and New Zealand the football governing bodies have renamed themselves to use the word 'football' in their motto.
what I mean is that "football" is the predominant game in the world, y'know, the "beautiful game", and that searches on Google often seem to produce images of guys (and girls!) wearing extensive armour and pictures of oval balls (as in Rugby) - it's a distraction - maybe the american football fans could find a new tern - such as "superball" or "gridiron-ball" for their game and avoid the confusion - also they could find a name that gives it some extra status and "presence" - this could be a PR coup if a great name can be found
so far no-one has come up with any suggestion - let's have some ideas!
The first description of a football match in England was written by William FitzStephen in about 1170. He records that while visiting London he noticed that "after dinner all the youths of the city goes out into the fields for the very popular game of ball." He points out that every trade had their own football team. "The elders, the fathers, and the men of wealth come on horseback to view the contests of their juniors, and in their fashion sport with the young men; and there seems to be aroused in these elders a stirring of natural heat by viewing so much activity and by participation in the joys of unrestrained youth."
Not that I dislike American Football.... Or Raider Ball as it should be known I love it.... but... I'm not sure Amerigo Vespucci had even been born (by a few hundred years after the ball was being kicked around London and chronicled as such) even discovering the Americas..... Or..... Should they really be called the Chinese Admiral Cheng Ho provinces... as he is reputed to have found them in 1421....
Right, time to put you Americans straight on this! What you call soccer IS football, what you call "American football" IS NOT football!
How do you even have the audacity to call your game "football"? Only 1 person on each side KICKS the ball, yes, lets get this into perspective shall we? That's 2 people in the entire game that actually uses their FOOT to move the ball, and they aren't even on for the entire match! Whereas, with FOOTBALL, 20 out of 22 players can ONLY use their FEET!
