It’s that time of the year... Everything needs to be collected, counted and distributed dunno

I have had a severe cold, suppressed by pills and will. Much better now apart from the coughing, but otherwise I am well and happy.

I was at a ball in May. It was a ball laugh

--- 'Point of order" - I pass a motion that the initial motion was invalid
due to the fact that it does not form part of the rules of this forum--- autocratic though it may be

Nothing like volleybll Phoenix, it is a dinner and a dance, you know with an auction and we sell tables.

Men dress up and swing their ladies around the dancefloor.

Like Brahms, Beethoven and Bach
Well I was raised with a guitar in my hand
And I was born to rock

Lagoona22: ...I ask myself, why am I slightly miffed by people who initiate a thread, and don't add any text as a starter??...I think it is totally appropriate to add some thoughts to get a discussion going...

No bout a doubt it....

I seriously agree with you Lagoona... So I'm hijacking this thread too.. And changing the theme to 'betrayal'..

What do the trees say when they see the axe..... Look the handle is one of us..

This is for Phoenix and of course is connected to the thread theme - Motion.

I discard the motion.

You start a thread, and then the participants discuss anything, everything, safe for the topic mentioned in the start. Of course, it’s their right to kill the thread, and then the thread initiator has a right to leave the thread at its fate, especially when it is killed.

Hi Tulefel,

You can't discard the motion cause on the first page it was (motion) passed very democratically..Lagoona made a motion about opening posts to threads must contain 'some sort of an opinion'..so i 2nd the motion and Miro 3rd-ed the motion...and every one else followed suit...

Here on the Eu we don't kill threads...that privilage is for the IF..here on this side of the pond...threads are generally trashed. Also very important to understand most questions get answered within the first page or so...unless more brain power is needed, then it could take as much as 4-6 pages....Another thing about these threads is that they are very often inter-mingled..Which can be a bit confusing after a bottle of plonk...

As for the the initial thread initiator leaving this thread Mr Lagoona is probably doing one of three things...Swiming with his new speedos', counting knickers or getting drunk...He did how ever give me a good answer to ta question I posed in another thread..It was an excellent answer( open two bottles of plonk)...Then Lillym(knows nothing about football) said take the white with the chicken and Jan threw his two bits in and said.."phoenix my man a nice bit of cheese with the red.."..And i so happen to have a nice smelly blue piece of cheese in the fridge...
After..now if people want to trash the thread(mine) they can..I got the answers that i wanted...or at least helped me with my difficult choice tonight....

But you can't discard a motion when it was done in a democratic and open fashion....can't be done..Ask mike or Elley...

Don't worry I use to think along you lines then a delightful woman by the name smoky put me straight..on one of her threads i pulled myself up for goig off topic with sommer about something and apoligised...But smoky was happy because it gave her an excuse to go off on a tangent of f her own...Then Conrad put the breaks on and and got us back on course...

On a totally different subject i see you are from sweeden...gotta ask..Do you play volley ball...?

WOW... I am impressed! Phoenix, you wrote a tome .. or is it called a tomb? no no, it must be a tome, cause a tomb is something you get buried in. But then again, the length of your posting, considering that you do not read more than 4 liners, is sort of similar to a tomb, cause its so long one could get lost in it ........especially if one has a few bottles of plonk, and all the time in the world to wonder around and muse over inscriptions ....... Anyway, very impressive!

ummm...my concern with such a motion is that it could kill creativity and individual writing style...why not let people OP as they want...and if you dont like the thread because of their OP style, just not contribute to it? - just a suggestion... People will learn through trial and error, over a few millenia, to post according to what yields greatest results...and if that corresponds to the style you like, great...

restricting creativity is not the way forward and so it is with deep regret that the medical team of this asylum must prohibit the use of such limiting rules.

forget the motion....use a lotion...tongue ....rolling on the floor laughing

Sorry mate, don't agree....creativity is not writing a thread head, and then a question mark as a leader....when you plant that flower, you give it some peat to get it going, when you start a thread, do the same thang....innit?...jmo

Lotion smotion...rolling on the floor laughing tongue
