BnaturAl: so adam and eve were not the original pair? more faulty crap.... or did god make more adams and eves eslewhere? or was cain boning female apes?

Love you too mark, but your belief system has major holes.

And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city after his son, Enoch.

Just a little reading for you my friend. To fill in a few holes you may have left unpaved. Potholes do have that stubborn ability to trip one up after all.

Yes it is rather enlightening in a purely scientific way to see the hordes of manlings who have recently adapted to the opposable digit thing coming from the forest to the world's epicentres. Almost refreshing, but I do wish they would leave their clubs behind. My cats understand English (and would have just as easily have picked up any other tongue or dialect if they were exposed to them) and I remain hopeful that these relative newcomers can be taught some sort of civility and perhaps language as well.hug

There are three kinds of illiteracy, I think.

1, When you have never learned to read or write.

2, When you´ve learned, but you make no effort to understand what you´ve read.

3, When you understand but you can´t respond appropriately, because your beliefs or emotions or interests blind you.

The first one I can totally understand and be sympathetic to.

Was the city Enoch deserted or were there people living there? Where did those people come from? Or if it was deserted, what was the need to build a city? Unless the city had two houses, Cain´s and Enoch´s, in which case it was a farm, not a city.
dunno
I also love you guyses but I gave up religion when I realized lions must have been vegetarian so all creatures great and small could live in peace.
I understand faith as different from reason. If you want to believe in flying saucers, it´s a choice and a right of every human being, but the states, laws and governments should remain apart from individual beliefs. That´s my only concern - that the laws apply to everyone, regardless.

Effort lacking is the fault of laziness for certain. Effort misdirected can be attributed likewise but also to environmental concerns which can plague entire groupings of people, through indoctrination. Religion is one of the worst, as is politics. Blinding lights to destroy our ability to see truth and of course the naming of things to limit their scope.
Just take words from one language and try to translate them to another and see the loss of intention readily.

Belief and emotion can blind not only in the speaker but also the listener. The truth often amounts to something between the two vantage points.

I do agree that those without the opportunity are the ones to whom we should lend a hand as they will then provide us as a collective with all that they experience as well. My cats continue to this day to try endlessly to help me understand my need of dead birds and mice to my dismay as I just do not understand the translation yet. They won't give up though cause I think they Love me like a kitten, seeing as how I haven't a clue as to their point no matter how often they attempt to reach me and explain.hug

BarrenPneuma: Try rereading Genesis my friend, its all there you just have to read all the words and try to follow the context this time.

much like scarping a cheese grader over your head ... why would I do that? Unproveable gods, unproveable saviors, text edited and forced on a nation and further to other nations by power brokers seeking dominance and control.... conclusions drawn from highly refuteable assumptions and questionable man made stories ...

Now The Princess Bride, I would read (and watch) again ... Only because I love it when Inego says "My name is Inego Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die"

If it werent for the Roman conquest of Persia ( and Constantines quest for power) you'd be spouting the persian savior Mithra or whatever freaking name "their" savior had.

check your history, the bible is the same sham that Persia perpetrated on its citizens, the same sham Egypt perpetrated on its citizens, the same sham that Islam perpetrates on its citizens ... all tripe, made up, unvarifieable .... it fails and always has failed the rabbit test.

In response to:

actually we arose from one celled organisms, transistions don't leave signs of "half" anything in any evolving species. Mutations might be a more apt word but evolution is the correct one. You're using creationist thinking to create riddles in evolution.

Did you know that we share 70% of our DNA with the tulip? and there is no sign of humanity in tulips at all dunno
