Yes...and when I find someone again who can reciprocate that with me, I'll know I've found the right one. In the meantime, I'm having a great time getting to know me better.

I have learned to love and like myself most of the time. 
Now I will focus on not trying to please others so much and
try to please myself more. Although this is the giving time of
year so I may have to make that my New Year's resolution.

It is nice to finally get to a point in my life where I can be me, no matter the outcome. It was a long, hard road to here though. It IS a great experience.

Hello Pat I agree with some of what you said. I think it is also important for us to learn as we grow and also realize that sometimes when you are making a sacrifice that you might end up being truly happy. sometimes it is what needs to be done.

HJFinAZ: We have all been in relationships where we totally sacrificed ourselves to make someone else comfortable and happy at the expense of our own comfort. Now we can become someone who takes care of her/him-self and still love our partner.
We can take our focus off trying to make him/her believe that we are wonderful. We have to let go of our fear of being abandoned by him/her.If he/she chooses to go, that is his/her choice. He/she is an adult and can do what he/she wants to do. We are adults also and no longer need him/her how wonderful we are in order to survive. What he/she thinks, does not make us who we are. We are wonderful just because we are us. What he/she does has nothing to do with us.
We can let go of the need for approval from another. Now we can be free to love him/her and accept him/her as he/she is. It will be a great experience......
