last new years resolution was to drink daily, but only a couple and the best beer I could find.
It took me about six weeks of microbreweries, bock beer, ales, german, irish, pilsners, ipa's ,stoudts.

Afetr acclimating my pallet I came across Dogfish head 90 minute IPA
as the winner, smithwicks was up there, and magic hat number nine.

Try a few Belgium beers. After those, everything else tastes like a light beer. A few REALLY good ones - Chimay, Westvelteran, Westmalle, Rochfort. All made at Trappist monestaries; formula for some is 400/500 years old!

I only found it once, but it's an (or so I was told) Australian beer called Cooper. It's got quite a kick to it unlike most other beers that I've had. Other than that I may have a Guiness or two, but I prefer mixed drinks overall. thumbs up

awesome, yea it took about a week to get used to the heavy stuff, but I've always like it.
These microbreweries are pumping out some highly hopped ales which are pretty nice.
Belgium Huh, nice, tough names to remember though.
I will definetely check them outif I can find them, I'll remember Belgium and go for the top shelf stuff, and look for monks on the labelspeace

Being from the US and not much a pub hopper I have always settled for Heineken (with a shot of Cuervo). Is this an unpalatable brew for any of you? I am sure there are much better selections available worldwide so your input is sought. I like it to have an effervescent bite, not too thick and a full but overpowering skunky flavor without the dregs.

Suggestions?

cheers

First time I got drunk was on, 13 years old, Heineken playing quarters in a fort in the woods, it's been a favorite ever since, I usually drink that over bud coors miller etc, it's good to start drinking when you are younger so you'll know what to expect once you start driving, and you can handle it better.

Guinness extra stout is my second favorite , magic hat makes me think that i would rather be on the space station drinking recycled pee. My favorite beer/ stout is from a local microbrewerie called Legend. I love their stout and they have the only lager that i'll drink.
