The spontaneity in writing a love letter is that its your thoughts then and there, yes if you sit and write until it sounds right the spontaneity has gone, but when you have been chatting to someone all evening finally say goodnight and then immediately write her a letter, then that is both spontaneous and romantic.
But the book thing is also very lovely

I´m good with this when things have reached a level that both people are committed to a loving relationship...prior to that, in the beginning stages, it would make me really uncomfortable.

I like romance, but I'm not much into the poetry thing or listening to music. I would much rather have a private table for two, slow dancing in the moon light, laughing at private jokes, and if a man can really hug and kiss....hmmmm

I love the idea of romanticism but in reality I find I never respond well to it.
Although I'm horrid and highly cynical.
I mean.... anyone that ever behaved romantically towards me had unsavory motives. I find it hard to believe that people are romantic selflessly.
I do like people who are polite and thoughtful but over sensitive types don't really do it for me, for some reason.
Maybe it's because I'm Irish and we don't have emotions, we drink them all away!
Although I'm horrid and highly cynical.

You are hilarious and I think that when something is overly done a lot of us women have a hard time believing it or we out and out laugh. Don't think it's just an Irish thing but I know that I enjoy the Irish posters.

Definitely... the fact that someone listens and remembers... I do put a lot of value on gifts... not their monetary value but in how much it reflects a persons knowledge of you, that they have listened to little comments, that is truly romantic.
