hollysaffron: do you feel like a member of a big family?
Yep, a big, dysfunctional, slightly over-the-top family...
As one of the few who has found true happiness here in the form of my wonderful soul-mate, Jackson, I can honestly say that I don't know where or what I'd be right now if it weren't for Connecting Singles. I/we remain here for the ability to send virtual flowers and the friends we've made and continue to make here. (And simply because I know that my continued presence here ticks a couple of people off!)
As to the mods not taking a more pro-active roll in the forums, well, we're all supposed to be adults here. I don't need a moderator when I'm conversing in real life - although I've seen some who do - and I kinda' prefer the "hands off" approach that they (the moderators of CS) use. Seems to me that if more folks thought before they spoke (or typed) that things would be better everywhere. (JMHO)
ltlmstrouble: More than a concrete cow could possibly do....
A well-preserved 12th century roman, I'd hope!
The trouble I've found with mummified bodies is that if you don't take the bandages off very carefully you end up taking most of the flesh away too - bummer!

I never found a mummified body in my 12th century neighbourhood
HJFinAZ: And I prefer being an "out"law.... Have to agree with Don about the dysfunctional part..
Yeah, kinda' fits don't it, Pat?
I've got relatives that I haven't talked to in years - Not because we bear each other any particular animosity, but just because we don't have much in common. Heck, I've seen times when I didn't talk to some of my own brothers for a couple of years because I just didn't have anything to say that I figured they'd be interested in hearing.

There are very few of my family I have much in common with and stay in contact with. These days I am grateful for all those old drunks that are and have been around for years, the old truckers I have worked with and all those scummy bikers I have ridden with over the years and the ones here that I can just "feel" what is in their soul.. Yes you damned old hillbilly, you are one of them..
I have had fun with CS.Lots of humor and support from forum goers.I kinda doubt Ill meet a soulmate on here but I never have luck in the real world so I dont let that deter me.This to me is a great big chat room filled with diverse interesting people. A bit of a cyber family I suppose.

Overall, yes. And I haven't even been here that long! LOL If you listen more than you speak, you can learn alot about people. Whether it be good or bad.
There are several on here that have helped me get through so many things in the last 1 1/2 year. I have had serious health issues, almost lost my now ex-boyfriend to a horrible accident from his work, and then when I was ready to give up on finding someone (ready to spend my life alone) they pounded into my head that I had to get back out there and at least try...telling me that I couldn't close myself off to the world...that is what a family SHOULD do....
I feel like I am blessed because of the friends I have here on CS...without them...I probably wouldn't be here right now...
