I have noticed on many threads that some seem to think that because there has been a clash of opinions or thoughts, it shows a lack of love. And may even be classed as hatred
This really (in all seriousness) bothers me,
Are some saying that in order to show or feel love that they are no longer to form an opinion and voice that opinion.
Do some think that because there is a clash of thoughts then that MUST lead to some form of hatred, violence even.
I would say that personally, I am one of the least violent persons within the CS walls, I can put hand on heart and say, I have never hated anyone in my entire life. I have never hit anyone either, thats not to say I weak or a coward, I just use words to place my side of a discussion, always have always will.
I genuinely believe that I have a huge capacity to love, and I am really puzzled that some would suggest that just because those that enter a debate on a forum show they are incapable of love.

Or have I just become paranoid
I love having a good debate and am usually quite attracted to a man who can have a good debate with me... when problems arise is when someone no longer gives you a serious reply and resorts to trivializing or putting you down because you have a different opinion. Even then it´s not enough to breed hatred...just contempt.
I tend to avoid flame threads or even threads that end up in flaming. But there have been a time or two when I wanted to reply and tell the flamer(s) to act their age and not their font size.
...but I know better, it just adds more fuel to the flame, so I move on. Good thread, btw.

Yes I so agree J, I would though admit that I can become abrasive when posts contain blatant Lies or Misquotes, because I want to debate with someone who actually knows what they are talking about. And I am open minded enough to sway and change my mind if the opposing argument is strong enough and presented in a logical and knowledgeable fashion.

I love that...act your age not your font size...cracked me up!
I tend to avoid those threads, too...or my own once they turn that way. I'll usually make an attempt or two at peace if I do go in. I should save my fingers, it's almost always ignored. Those who engage in them love the battles. So, let them battle. Those of us who don't like it should just avoid it when it starts.
Yes, I love a good discussion, and even a good debate. However, I hate arguing, putting others down, and ignorance.

Again you make some good points Dru
But at the same time, a person should be allowed to defend themselves against an unsubstantiated statement, without being accused of being lacking in love.

Hi Rizla
I personally think it's about one's openmindedness and competitiveness.
Some people enter a debate with a sigular vision of getting their point accross and not allowing
their position to be swayed in any way whether it thru intelligence or pure stubborness.
The last relationship I was in she was one of the most competitive people I have ever met and was
extremely successful in everything but love. We never debated as it always turned into an
argument and if my point was comin accross as being more valid she would become all defensive,
and lash out verbally.
I see this a lot on some of the threads and wheter that is hatred or someone that is incapable of

Exactly, and I feel the same way, although I may be more lenient toward ignorance. I tend to think of ignorance as unlearned, while on the other hand, we have stupidity, which I tend to think of as unwilling to learn. Deliberate comical stupidity, however, can be a riot!

I agree with this as well. And I think that is where the eggshell syndrome plays a major part in a discussion whenever there is a failure to communicate when misunderstanding occurs. Some try to be very careful in what they say in order to avoid a potential flame up, but oftentimes fail. Good thread, riz.
Well so far ive tracked down 3 people on CS who argued with me and burned their houses down .....The last one managed to run away but thankfully im a dab shot so he wont give either myself or anyone else any cheek next time......
Bloody hate people that say a Windsor knot isnt as good as a over and under knot
Hold on i see someone hangs trousers upside down on a washing line instead of the way you wear them or is it if you wear them on the top hang them from the bottom and if you wear them on the bottom hang them from the top....Look who cares ? i dont like their spelling .... Right lets see where they live and pencil them in for next week
You see it more now than ever! Some people just can't "agree to disagree" and move on. They feel they must stand their ground til they're the last one standing! And it doesn't matter to them what it takes to get to that point. I stay away from the flaming threads as well. I have commented ONE time on one, then never returned to it again because it upset me so much. Life is too precious to be spending it arguing with others. I have had my fill of bickering people in real life, WHY in the world I would want to voluntarily be in on it online?! Maybe I'm just getting too mellow with age. Which is perfectly fine with me! I would hope to spend the rest of my life enjoying quality time with others in a peaceful environment OR just be alone the rest of my life. That's how much I despise bickering.

Hi Merky, God could you be more wrong Wanna fight ?
I'll get the choc sauce and you get the whipped cream
Completely agree with your posting. I find it hard to argue with loved ones / family let alone
Dude - you've never hated anyone? Even Jesus threw a fit in the temple. You can't bottle that stuff up. Even if you have to hire someone just to scream at them - do it. You'll feel better.
