Sometimes in this busy world people opt for internet dating obviously because it is quick and easy for them. It has its many advantages. Lack of an animated personality is expressed and narrowed down only to words and pictures. I have friends that refuse to communicate online as they believe it takes away from reality and defeats the purpose of true socialising.

I would have to disagree with your friends because for several months while I took care of my dying grandfather I had little contact with people then after he passed away I found CS and my CS friends were my only socialization to the outside world for days at a time except for the the three days a week I worked while taking care of my grandma after he passed away and for that I can never thank those people enough and they know who they are. I think it's best to find them where you find them. wine However, once you find someone online, it needs to move to real life as soon as possible, or it's much more difficult to establish the things you need to do to really build a relationship, and it can fall apart...even with constant contact. Heaven forbid something happens to that communication...then it becomes near impossible.

So true, Arlene. I've made lots of friends here...and if I ever get to travel the world, I might get to meet them! If I find love here, I do...if not, then not. I haven't lost anything by being here, and I've gained quite a bit. hug

Oh wait a minute this isn't real life? All this time I thought I wa living in the real world. I better get out of the house more and find this real world....

However we can find our next love and soul mate is okay. If I meet her here fine. If I meet her in this so called real world fine. I just want to find her and all avenues are open in my book of rules.

I have made some friends from online, of course they are mostly all back in Oregon, but it is a law of averages for every ten to twenty people you meet maybe one is going to click with you. Or at least that was how it was for me and for some reason in person I have had a hard time making friends not sure why but I think people are finding it hard to connect period these days. Whatever venue you use if you give it time to know someone after a while it doesn't matter how you met them. JMO
