Vulpine: Fair play to you too WhatUWish4. Wish all women felt the same about themselves.
Oh it's very tiring... any form of discrimination. It's easy to do, and not very nice when it DOES come back at you.
There's none of us perfect here. At the same time, there's a lot of good about us too, individually. Why can't people just accept people's innate differences, without having to throw old snidey derogatory remarks?? If you don't LIKE SOMEONE... MOVE ON. And if you're not going to say anything nice... Just LEAVE THEM ALONE
simplicomplic8d: Well personally, I don't even remember what I put my body type as, or what the choices were. I'm not a skinny girl. I don't pretend to be a skinny girl. Hell, I don't even want to be a skinny girl.
But I'm not "ample" either. Proportionate or curvy is the best way to describe me. I've said for a few years that I'm less like an hourglass and more like a 12 hourglass. hehe.
either way, here, all I have are face shots, but that's not to say I don't have full body shots. I just choose not to post them on a public forum where I'm bound to get emails that read something like the comments I used to get from high school boys. I don't need that. No one does.
Excellent point. I initially only posted headshots as I didn't want to be judged or have anything nasty said. But, I'm not skinny, not fat... in the middle and I'm healthy so I said frig it!
I think it's a rather dishonest euphemism, though its use here is fairly understandable (there aren't a lot of good options, and very few people are willing to call themselves "obese" or "fat").
In any case, I think almost everyone here clearly understands that "curvy" is PC code for "overweight," so really, there's no harm done.

An option might be to simply allow the option of one to list one's weight alongside one's height. Then we can make our own classification of the individual's body type.
Ambrose2007: Well, it could very well be the most accurate description of you, Kawai. I should've included something like "usually" it's PC code. It's certainly possible to be curvy and not particularly overweight, but simply isn't the way the word's used here.
That's why I like the idea of simply listing one's vital statistics - weight and height - and letting people draw their own categorical conclusions.
Better yet - a photograph clearly portraying the full body would be preferable. Then we can decide for ourselves how to classify you. I don't do it because I want to remain physically intact while visiting my love.

Kawal, dont say that i adore most people any size any weight, i look at the heart and passion on a person to see what drives them in life, i was just wondering where curvy started from xoxoxo
