Lagoona22: I hate to admit it, but I love country and western music....does this mean I am a country boy at heart??..unsophisticated and uncultured??...should I buy a truck and get a job on a farm...?..
What kinda music do you listen to, and what do you think of this genre?..
I like Johnny Cash music... does that make me a hillbilly?

Ich liebe "Eine claine Nacht Music" but I am not Mozart. Why you think that country boys are crude? I don't think so, I can't imagine you so. What is your definition for: at heart, unsophisticated and uncultured?

Lagoona22: Hey Phoenix, how do you rate Bob Dylan in all of this?...
...and why the heck do you guys have such high regard for Johnny Cash??...I was never that impressed actually....
Lagoona...You never listened to the man in black outside off 'A boy names Sue..' Johnny wore black for me, you..the underdog..Not because it looked 'cool'..Listen to a 4 CD set from Bear Family records (sorry mods for the Advert...)Called 'Ride this Train'...
Another thing Mr Zimmerman and John C; were cut from the same cloth...Johnny is on record saying Bob is the greatest singer song writer since 'Bob Seger'...And goes into 'It aint babe'..or something with June Carter...
But Robert reckoned the truck drivers version of 'Tomorrow isn't such a long time'..Is the best cover of one of his songs he ever heard...
I'll try to explain the diff between Country and Western...The closet 'mingeling' of the two words(C&W music)...Whack on 'Big Iron' by Marty Robbins...And you get the pic... Basically you have Country music..or Country music with a 'western' feel..But as Waylon said...
When you cross that Ol' Red River , Hoss*.It just don't mean a thing..When your're down in Austin Bob WIllis is still the king
Back to Johnny...(John I didn't forget you birthday the other day)
