It was a train set that was mounted on a piece of plywood. I lost it during Hurricane Katrina that took everything except the clothes on my back.

Tamarin: Could not get into the link Merk

Will have to explain for us that do not know...

Fav candy as a kid?

Morning Merk by the way

Sorry the link didn't work. But anyway there was a tv show called "Family Affair" about a dad and his boy and girl. The little girl had a baby doll and she talked to her as if she were a real person. But anyway, I was absolutely fixated on having one of those baby dolls.laugh She wore a blue dress w/yellow polka dots and big square glasses. Too funny!laugh

Favorite candy? I have two: wax lips and pop rocks!grin

wave Tam, have a wonderful day!

We had very little money but as a kid did not pay too much
attention to that. We made our dirt roads with jar lids
and then we used sticks, rocks, etc. for our cars and we
had a blast playing with those.

My favorite candy was mallow-cups and fizzies

My favorite comic was Archie I think that was it, my favorite
book to read was Uncle Tom's Cabin. I cried like a baby
everytime I read it.

Good thread Tam. I don't remember my very young years
but this brings back some of the better memories. teddybear

Tamarin: Barbie is fifty nine this month...yep she is looking good.

I wonder how old Ken is?

Where you an action man, Ken, Barbie or Cindy child?

What was your fav childhood toy, game?

Did you keep any off your childhood toys such as a train set that

might now bag you a fortune if you were to sell it?

Sorry to hear that...

The hurricanes are frightening...

We tend to end up in Florida in Augustdoh

One times there was a real warning and we are lucky that in my fathers trade they take the boats up river and we sat and rode it out up there....

Something called "Girls World", which was basically a lifesize plastic head on a stand with long retractable hair, that you could make up and change the hairstyle on, the usual girlie thing..

Trouble was, one night when I was about 10 years old, I sleepwalked into my parent's bedroom with this head under my arm. Cant remember a darn thing about it, but apparently scared the living bejeezus out of my mum and dad. Looked like something out of a Shakesperean play,so I was told..doh

It consequently got thrown in the garbage the next morning...laugh

I also had that set and had all the little boxes of food that went with it for many years. And had a table and chairs with a tea set.
Never was much for sweets so can say what a favorite was. But as Merky said I liked the fake lips.

Toys were whatever random items we found lying around. Although the kids down the street had a community Simon, I only got to play it a few times. There was also a community Atari, but we weren't allowed inside during the day if it was nice out.

Candy was a special treat we got on Halloween and Easter. Didn't really have a favourite, but I was always partial to tootsie rolls. grin Someone gave me and my cousin a candy necklace once, but we had to share and she ended up eating almost the whole dang thing. mumbling

Favorite toys: skates-which eventually got taken apart and placed on a small plank to create a new sensation in 1966-a skateboard! Fell many times on that thing! Had a couple of dolls-a Tiny Tears one and a Chatty Cathy--hated that one! I think it was one of the earliest type to pull the string on it's back and it talked! LOL

Favorite candy: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Loved 'em.
