It must have been very hard for him to adapt after all that time spent in prison but it wasn't all in vain he spoke out about the unfair injustice system and helped others who had been wrongly convicted.

Thing is "British Justice" gave birth to Irish republicanism, or at the very least sustained it. Long before the Guildford Four.

This is nothing to do with Irish republicanism as you put it but simply an innocent man being locked up in prison for something he did not do.
A disgrace for any government to carry out these injustices or do you think it is acceptable in any country?

He had a tough life, best years of his life spent in a Brit jail and then to die at the very young of 60.

To get some perspective on this thread and get back to the original it is for people to express their sympathies for Gerry Conlon an innocent man that served time for something he was not guilty of and who put his energies into helping others who were undergoing a miscarriage of justice.,.,I have personal experience to a much lesser degree of someone that was well well known to me who was brought in for questioning and in a cell for two days and caused major upset in my family, thank god their false information was proved to be just that..so for someone like an innocent man like jerry Conlon to be locked up for years and when he got out he used his time to help others,r.i.p.jerry,sad flower

And people question me calling you a west Brit!!!

Gerry Colon spent a quarter of his life in a British prison for a crime he didn't commit and stood helpless as his father died in a British jail snowy. The British Judicial system and the police officers involved knew from day 1 he was innocent. But Gerry along with the other three arrested for Guilford and Woolwich, The Brum 6, Maguire 7 and Judith Ward were simply 'Bloody Stupid Natives' Some of who happened to be Belfast Catholics and were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and abused by the British system.

And what has Britain done??? it has compounded the travesty by sealing the files for 75yrs. Apart from the innocent people asking for the truth Snowy, don't the families of the victims deserve truth aswell...

Why are the files secreted for 75yrs snowy.. Who are they trying to protect? Why are the British afraid of the truth?
