the way of a man with a maiden...
[Three things are too wonderful for me;
four I do not understand:
the way of an eagle in the sky,
the way of a serpent on a rock,
the way of a ship on the high seas,
and the way of a man with a maiden.]
Book of Proverbs Chapter 30
Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on your point of view, I’ve had a few loves in my life, many ‘encounters’, some few ‘disasters’, etc., nothing out of the ordinary, pretty much like everyone else’s experiences whilst navigating the turbulent and unpredictable rivers of romance...,
And, sadly, I’ve never had it MY WAY...,
Once, just once, I would like to,
How would it be for me?
Read on...
I will meet her when I least expect it, on an undomesticated and uncultivated beach,
The first thing I will notice is her flowing hair,
Her youthful if not zesty walk,
Her lissom body with appropriate bosom, and legs to match,
Her easy smile,
Her riveting eyes,
Kind corners to her sensual mouth,
[my god, am I that shallow? I just realized, I mentioned nothing of her soul, tut, tut, MEN! There’s no hope for us..., lol..., OK, here goes...]
Aaahhh, her all-important soul and mind, of course,
Oh even a perfect and primeval eve would not do without the appropriate wonderful, kind, loving, decent, pure mind, and soul, and brains, and all that jazz,
Now, back to the other important things, um, where was I???
Oh, yeah,
She will walk up to me coyly, and demurely say ‘hello’, in a surreptitious kind of way, so I do not find her too forward and scare myself away...,
There will be no one else on the beach, so that when I ask her to join me for coffee and if, happenstance, she rejects me, no one else will see and shame my tender ego,
But, she will accept, and make my heart turn somersaults,
As we’re walking toward the cafe, I will ask her what she likes to be called, and I will tell her what I like to be called,
Small talk, so I do not scare her away...
Over coffee, I will discover that she finds my profession intriguing, me fascinating, and charming, and handsome and, and, well, you get the insecurity-thing idea...,
Quite serendipitously, she will live not too far from me, be unattached and free for dinner that night...
Fast forward 2 years, we’re still together and get deeper in love by the day,
We have a total soul-body-mind connection,
But each still feels the other to be unfathomable, we can’t wait to spend time together,
Yet, when we look into each other’s eyes, there are endless universes there,
When we hold hands, the cosmos trembles,
When we hug its as if we have left this earthy plane and ascended to some shamanic realm of continual and most meaningful ecstasy,
When I talk she listens, when she talks I listen, and her voice sounds like some pure siren-song, sans the poison of Odysseus’ sirens, but just as enchanting...
I could write 7 books about her and me, but, I’ll stop here for now...

You have it made, Earl Grey. If this (as I suspect) is indeed a factual narrative, I drink a toast to your good fortune. If it is not a factual narrative, you tell a story that the resourceful Odysseus himself would have been proud of.
Either way, a fascinating read.

Pure poetry if i ever heard it...beautiful earl
Tis exquisitly moving and so very true.Keep dreaming it and feeling it . It will happen.I truly feel this is the way of things.
With this write, I'm sure you have every maiden wishing that she looked as exquisite (and had a good soul and mind, etc., of course!) and lived not too far from you. The love is seen after the Yet and between the when we look into each other’s eyes... and ...enchanting. As the vision becomes reality (or reality becomes the vision), there we find life's happiness.
unadulterated honesty..
your Humanity and Divinity cannot
be hidden even if you tried,
and that is a beautiful thing!!
