Dancing with the divine…
I find myself drawn to pen and paper, suddenly,
I have no idea why, but, I decide to give it a whirl and see what comes through…
I love you, I love you, I love you,
Is a refrain that has been drumming around in my cranium these days…,
Love who?
Love what?
I have no idea…
Aloneness has been a constant companion of mine for a couple of years now,
Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m not lonely,
Heck, I’m surrounded by people,
Yet, I feel alone,
I feel as if I’m in a bubble, a reality that I’m loath to share with others, lest I seem like an eccentric[ha, ha, as if I already don’t have that label ],
Why just yesterday my intimate partner called me:-
A misanthrope, and Antisocial,
The funny thing is, I was not at all offended,
I just smiled at her, not self-righteously, ‘cause she’s kinda right,
Often the wounds of the past manifest themselves antisocially in me and quite misanthropically[id est, I have a vicious tongue, I don’t get physical, please, don’t misunderstand…, lol… ]…
I love you, I love you, I love you…
Where are you dear divine?
I love you…
Would you please draw closer to me?
I love you…
Would you please ease my pain?
I love you…
Would you please lighten my atmosphere?
I love you…
Would you please dance with me, dear divine?
I love you…
Would you?
I love you, I love you, I love you…

sometimes writing helps make sense of whats inside, can relate
also being surrounded by so many people and being so alone, strange hey
Your rare excursions to this corner are always more than worth waiting for - your written thoughts leave such a lasting impression.
The reader easily picks up on the black dog elements herein, although it is impossible to imagine you being antisocial.
Many aeons ago, I recall occasionally sitting atop Aphrodite's Rock (which I know isn't a million miles from you.) I recall it being a shallow wade which was well worth it. My point is, it's the kind of place where a fellow can sit there alone, and clear one's head.
Aphrodite... Goddess of Love and Beauty - you may find it well worth worth visiting the Rock of the Goddess (her lovers included a few mortals as well as Gods!)
Just a thought, dear friend. It would be good to see more of you here on poetry corner.
Sincere good wishes.
Bill

Hey, fellow South African, how is Durbs these days? I miss the old country immensely! Thanks for your lovely comment
since we're all One, including Divine,
'i love you dear Divine'...
Good to see you back my friend. This one really opens a lot of personal insights and thoughts and is done in your own inimitable way. Really what it shows me is that so many of us have similar thoughts and poetry is that point of contact for all of us to try and express them. Cheers mate. Nicely done.
