Against a Cumbrian sunset statuesque, In slanted beams she beckons me to grace, Breathtaking views, the ink of nature's desk, My heart to pen a smile upon her face. Majestic jagged hills oft' touch a cloud, Stooping to the lakelands deepened soul, Penrith wraps our Love in scented shroud, Sweet English rose, my Irish heart you stole. Blinded by the beauty that surrounds, None more fair than her pale countenance, I on her blowing tresses place a crown, To celebrate our close poetic dance.
Fond moments that I dream can't come too soon, When yonder we will kiss to nature's swoon.

About this poem:
Thank you Orientalkoru for the challenge. It's my dream to travel to the lake district in England. This poem is for Christina who lives there.
My pleasure Mick and thank you for indulging me in, very much appreciated.
To your sonnet...you painted Cumbria to the tee! "Majestic jagged hills oft' touch a cloud, Stooping to the lakelands deepened soul" just as much as you painted your passion for Chrissie: "Sweet English rose...none more fair than her pale countenance"
And to close it with a dream that can't come too soon so you can kiss to nature's swoon.. is just so romantically enticing!
I had to check out Cumbria after reading your sonnet; such a beautiful place...thank for sharing your dream with us!
WOW! This is SO beautiful! Never been to UK in my life.. hope will visit there someday and explore the countryside areas... looks like a fantastic place to visit!
Dear Christians, Sonnets are difficult, But not when they are written about beautiful women, Such as you ! I can feel another one coming on already ! Thanks for all my dear ! Mick.x
Much appreciated M. It pleases me that you liked this. Mick.
