4 SEASONS IN A DAY.....

Frustration while we wait the seasonal change
From winter bleak to a spring sunnier range
Maybe we're fed up, of dressing for the rain
Or wind and chill, and hair we need to tame

At least in northern New Zealand, never snow
Though feeling cold, with cheeks more a glow
Not from humidity and sunshine, buffered wind
Blue not rosy, body and bones feel tinged

Four seasons, can be mixed into one day
Take off and add layers, keep colds at bay
Dreaming of the sunshine, know it's real
When happily extra clothes, you can peel

The grass is always greener, we know its true
Wanting what we can't have, does see us through
Till the season we love, shakes our senses alive
Dare we moan about it later, humidity over rides

Impatience, I admit I want the season to rush
Spring seems so slow, and still rain will gush
But days get longer, and earth starts to wake
Grateful for every sunny day, as summer breaks.....

I like the cold as I work in a factory and live upstairs where it is hot from April to September. Your seasons are flipped where you live. I live in Wisconsin, so we get fall which I call September to November, Winter from December to February, Spring is March till May, and Summer is June to August.jackolantern chicken santa waving irish bunny very happy

Brilliant poem has hit the nail on the head for me. When I retired I had thought of moving to another country but the changing seasons I love and would miss them. Although they are changing these days and do not have a defined time the same as when I was a child

yes macradloff….when I lived in the northern hemisphere, I accepted spring around Easter and winter at Christmas. If I'm truthful, even 40+, I still think that way until I remember, moving to NZ turned those seasons on their head.
Thanks for reading and leaving a comment....appreciated....Kathy NZwave wave

That you for reading and leaving a comment REDEX......NZ doesn't have the defined seasons I remember in the UK, but then in the northern part of NZ, we don't have snow either and a short winter, but yes, I admit I like the changing seasons....Kathy wave

Hi Kathy
I love the winters here in Nu's country but I miss our Summer in NZ. It has been too hot over here lately and I suffer from the heat a lot! Reading between the lines...I see the water, I see the range...those chilly crisp mornings or the grey wet days of winter flipside with walks on beautiful beaches and the bush not far beyond; cafes galore out in the city and oh those yummy fish and chips conversing .....now my heart longs to be there!
Always

We all love certain seasons of the year. Here in sunny Florida, the evergreen is with us year-round but traveling north a bit you can enjoy the rest of them. Some like Christmas with snow. Here is very changing, you can be at a beach relaxing with bright sunshine and in a matter of minutes get on a race to overcome a sudden shower...In the states, the weather determines the enjoyment of the season. Between hurricanes, tornados, storms or sudden earth movements. Enjoyed your poem very much. I don't have a preference since each one has its beauty.

As a child I loved the different seasons . Mostly the winter months when it snowed . I moved to sunny California ,We don’t have much of a seasonal change , if we chose we can go up to the mountains for snow ,the desert for heat in the summer ,and cold during the winter months . Today I spent my day at the ocean . Love the poem I do remember the frustrations of the seasons changing while growing up in the mid west still. bouquet

Southmiami….I think of all the US states, I know more about Florida which one day I hope to visit.....glad you liked the poem and left such a detailed comment. If I am truthful, I hate being very hot of cold, so maybe my seasons are spring and autumn......which we can truly experience in one day mixed with winter and summer.....weather can be crazy...
Thank you again......Kathy NZ wave

We are entering around the corner hopefully heading for Spring here but your heading for Fall. It's been a rough Summer for those of you Down Under with all the Wild Fires. Thankful thinks are hopefully calming down.

The weather here has been crazy all winter like yesterday we had a high of 15 and 4 degrees overnight and today it was around 30 degrees. It has been up one day and down another day. We had the warmest January on record. December was snowless and warmer as well. Crazy weather since November. Wondering what Spring and Summer will bring. Thanks for sharing Kathy!

Hi Kathy USA...we've experienced a very hot summer this year, and still have some time to go, though dawn is arriving later every morning, reminding us it is coming to an end.
Thank you for reading and leaving a comment, appreciated as always....Kathy NZ wave dancing
