Only

I heard you got married I heard you are doing so well
So I'll never let on no I'll never let on how I fell
In love with you before you met him
I was always only a friend

I heard that your smile is so bright
And that your laughter is so gay
So I'll always be polite
And only wave hello if you should ever pass my way

I heard that you live in a mansion
And that you have riches supreme
I heard you love him and you call him handsome
But I still miss you and as for me I can only dream

So sad. Unrequited love. Hoping the dream is of a new love and not undying hope that someday.....

I have nothing but empathy for your feelings, and understand completely how difficult it is to accept being in your position.

For almost 15 years I've had a relationship with someone that I consider to be my 'lifetime best friend' and my soul mate. Over the years I have finely admitted that although we BOTH have a tremendous amount of love for one another ~ WE are not and never have been 'IN LOVE". It took many years for me to admit and accept this fact.
Most of the time I do accept the way it must be ~ but then ~ every so often ~ I do still dream.
