HIM, HER and THEM
HIM, HER, and THEM;
If my grammar school education,
or my memory fails me not,
These are nouns,
People, places, and things.
Places are not of concern
In this simple prose.
The usages of HIM and HER
Can be quite disturbing.
Depending on the tone
Of voice and how
Emphassises is placed.
So dear readers, before
I carry on; You need an
Explaination, on how
This diddy works.
I have this fear of showing,
Chauvinistic ways.
So where you see a ____,
Appear in this simple verse,
Please insert a HIM or HER
In the space provide.
One more thing, that I might
Add; Caps are rude and not
Desired, but here they a must!
So here and now, I must inform,
That rhyme that's been established,
May or may not be useful
In the lines below.
You're shopping in a local store,
When a friend comes up and says
"Hey, I just saw you're ex!"
With wounds not healed, you exclaim
To your thoughtless friend,
" ____!" What the [insert profanity]!
what's the [ insert profanity ] is that
[ Insert profanity ] doing here? [ Did you insert profanity?
Good for you!
] Are you done yet? [
] I'm glad you figured this out. [
] OK, you're done. [
] I'm cutting you off!
As your composure is slowly recovered,
To the boob, that you once called friend,
You ask a question that
Whose answer is fatal as a
Dagger plunged deep in your chest;
Was the ex alone?
The heartless fiend then proceeds
To tell you what his
Eyes had witntessed.
" THEM! Together??!!" You yell without regrett.
[ you know the routine
]
I leave you now, with your
Cursing thoughts;
Knowing you now know the poison
That these three words do hold,
HIM! HER! and THEM!, for when
In such manner used, no lower
Life has been known. As with
People, a soul mate does exist,
HE, SHE and THEY!
