Memories of Lost Love

There was a time,
Not long past, we
Called each other
Soul mates.
We pleased each other
Unselfishly, committing
Our beings to each other.
We were lovers,
We were best of friends.

I can remember coming up
Behind you, whispering in
Your ear I love you,
And I would almost have to
Keep you from falling
As your knees weekened.

You would come from
Behind, after love making,
And run your tresses along
My back; I still get pleasant
Goose bumbs just at the thought.

You once told me my
Kisses , alone, would
Set your loins on fire.
You would just say my name,
And I would feel my whole
Body twinge in ecstasy.

Every touch, every kiss,
You bestowed on me, my flesh
Tingled in delight.
You looked at me, with
A softness , a twinkle in
Your eye, that only a woman
In love, could give.
I lost all sense of
Self being when I saw this.

Somehow, as things happen,
We started to part.
You started to have doubts
Of my friendship.
I started to doubt your love.

We parted, I mourned.
We harbor no bad feelings
For each other. We're
Friends once more.
I am content with that!

Very passionate depiction, Cambuff. Well done. Not sure how you can be content with friends after that lot though!
