Meeting Again

Meeting Again

I met a lady recently and was resting the next day and decided that I would like to meet her again. This is a little fun thing about the thought surrounding the desire vs the trepidation of when is the right time after that first encounter to make contact

The 19th of October

The 19th of October

Alexander Pushkin wrote this poem when living in exile on the 19th of October – the day when his former lyceum friends marked the anniversary of graduation, in appreciation of their cordial friendship. I have translated only two stanzas of a long poem, dedicated to friendship.

Existence

Existence

We are children of existence, that's what we are, we were born to be unique, never to be the same, we're here for the game, the good, the bad, and the oblique, we're not for love, we're not for fame, we are not for anything, there's no one to blame,

Hope springs eternal

Hope springs eternal!

So, we are here today, where were we yesterday? Before we were born where were we? Cultivated in our mothers tummy!,,, So, where were we before the "act" we cant remember thats a fact, and where will we be when we cant see, back to the start? Hear th

Life changes you from the start, it opens your mind and closes your heart, you start out with love, innocent and true, then life, slowly eradicates you, you become aware, of whats right and what's fair, you want to be there,and you really care, then

You too

Céad Míle Fáilte ! (Sonnet)

An Irish invitation to an English lady. I know from your posts dear that you yearn to get away for a while.... So just for the craic come over to visit your auld poet buddy and I'll help you trace your Irish ancestry. Don't mind the poem dear, that's just the type of romantic Irish clown I can be. You'd be very safe with Mick.

Poetry

A heart preserved. The native(s) paint the picture of the spoken word. The universal rhythm. Paint me a picture of realisation. We can count in the dark, but did logic form in dark? In these difficult times I consider my friends my best friends.

The Many Shades Of Love

The Many Shades Of Love.

So varied are the hues of poetic pen, With a multitude of exploding coloured ink, In endless shades to choose from now, and then, To set the writing mood, into which we sink. Should I decide upon a nature write, I must select just one of many

Deny

"Deny"

I wrote this poem when I 'd felt betrayed by people that I 'd felt stigmatized me when they didn't really know me or understand me. I think poetry at times is a release of sorts.

Journey through life we all travel together or alone

let your hair down

let your hair down

I'm old...lol...and my hair is extremely long but I always wear it in a braid or ponytail....I let my hair down today and was thinking about everything I have been through in life, and how we gray with wisdom as we age, so I wanted to write about it.

Friends That Day

Friends That Day

Last week I organized an outing inviting three of my new friends to gather on Saturday. By the time The group was to get together No three but eight people had gathered at my invitation. So I purchased the extra tickets and off I went. When I walked in and saw all their faces I suddenly filled with such great emotion my eyes filled with tears. A two to three hour get together grew into and eight hour gathering. Here is the result of that event.
