The Rose

I wrote this poem for a girl that I fell in love with in New Zealand. She was the first girl that I can say that I truly loved. I left New Zealand not long after, but I still think of her and wonder what became of her. I guess you could say that I still love her to this day.

Looking for my unknown kalyanamitra

Looking for my unknown kalyanamitra...

a kalyanamitra is a spiritual friend who is able(maybe, maybe not) to be a soulmate, in short a beloved one(any worthy otherself)... "kalyanamitra" is a sanskrit word... i guess i prefer "gewa chennyen"(kalyanamitra in tibetan) or "hao p'hon you"(kalyanamitra in chinese) or "kokoro no tomodata"(or "shin tomodata", kalyanamitra in japanese)... i really don´t know... words float in the void when i try to understand their deep and genuine meanings... Let there be kalyanamitras!!!! May all Heavenly Beings gather the kalyanamitras here and now!!!!... forever...

Mystical Honeymoon

"Mystical Honeymoon"

i am still inspired by Kitamura Kigin(japanese poet from the XVII Century)... i combine the love theme of "Iwatsutsuji"("Wild Azaleas" or "Rock Azaleas") with other elements of eastern poetry such as the scar of a warrior, hope from an auspicious star and the scent-probably from an incense of indian clove that shows a spicy inner feeling... about the queen bee, probably i don´t deserve this kind of relationship, and so, being humble, i compare myself to a beloved quean because i am not the main consort or lover to this unknown worthy drone...

true love

true love

Writing this poem has been difficult, a roller-coaster ride of emotions, I probably should have written this many years ago, but I chose to stop writing instead. We all suffer hardships and grief in our life, sometimes it feels like our world is falling apart. The one truth I have found is that our dreams don’t just end; they change and bring new beginnings. Without the difficult times how would we be able to identify how precious and beautiful life is, and how insignificant the things we worry about really are.

Gods slice of Heaven

Gods slice of Heaven...

this poem is about a beach called Wai-nui-o-toto (new chums beach), on the Coromandel, New Zealand. developers want to develope it, activists want to save it, and locals will share till the end of time... cause at the end of time, those who seeked to destroy it will lay for ever in unrest, those who fought to save it will be remebered. and we as locals will die to keep that that is important to us free from ones greed... it is one of the last untouched natural wonders left on the Coromandel, it should be left alone for all to share, not just for the few who want it for them selves... sound familiar?? its happening world wide, wake up people... enjoy.

Leap to freedom

Leap to freedom.

(The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog) This piece is about the sentence that typists learn, to gain mastery of the keyboard, and enhance speed. I wanted to try to turn it into a poem without mentioning any of the words in the sentence directly, but to try to convey the meaning in a lighthearted way.

The Rose and the Weed

"The Rose and the Weed"

One day while pondering the thought and possibility of plants 'thinking and speaking'... I came up with this poem. It's meant to be an analogy of the way people's lives can sometimes be compared to one another. Success vs failure, popular vs unpopular, accepted vs the outcasts. May it cause us all to be a bit more compassionate and sensitive to those around us who may appear to be less fortunate in life's circumstances.

Grand Parents

"Grand" Parents

I came from a broken home and was thrown from pillar to post. I would stay with an aunt and uncle for a time. Then with a lady-friend of my dad's. But the best time of my life growing up was when I got to stay with my grandparents. The part about the tomato is true. My grandpa would sometimes take a salt shaker with him in his shirt pocket when he went out to tend the garded. He'd pick a tomato, lick it and then sprinkle salt on it and eat it. Well, "monkey see, monkey do"! One day he went to the garden and I followed. I started eating cherry tomatoes. He noticed and said, "Hey! Stop eating the tomatoes". I replied "But, you eat them all the time!" And Grandpa said "You just wait for supper". So, I still had one cherry tomato left in my hand. And, he made me angry with his one-way business,so, I hauled off and threw that tomato at him whilst he was bent over. The tomato just missed hitting him in the head by an inch or so. I got so scared at the thought of what would have happened had I connected, that I almost peed my britches.
