I wrote this poem not long after my husband died.

First written: 14th July 1997. This was my Mothers yorkie dog. She lived to about thirteen years old, and unfortunately developed epilepsy and eventually had to be put to sleep because it could not be controlled in the end even with medication.
Originally, this poem came from the ancient Greek. The title was something like oikemon parthenos pussypoo. Apparently, Athenian women took offense at the lack of a believable story line. Men had few complaints. Somehow it appeared centuries later, in the waist packs of Visigoth warriors, on their way to Gaul. More recently, a copy turned up in an excavation site near Oslo, along with a collection of stone sex toys. Check out the neat meter, which is not unlike that of the sonnets of A E Neuman. Slick.
