Mom on the Street

turns
another corner
of tables and tricks,
chasing alley dreams
of drinks and fix;

another john
hustle, smile and wink-
my, how your boy
has grown taller I think.

not since Cleveland
but don't you see,
tomorrow's
another daddy
for this boy and me.

gotta go, gotta go
- sure been fun.
gotta go, gotta go
- watch me run.

stop that, boy...
don't you cry!
you're just like your daddy
I can see it in your eyes.

Dad

I could hear my own footsteps as i walked into the room
A large man standing cloaked by his black leather jacket
Gathering possessions,a suitcase a step from his silhouette
Who was this man what was he doing in my house i asked myself

He turned like the wind startlingly me to tears
Where are you going! i shouted in distress
My tears poured as if from the deepest ocean
Can i go with you, can i go with you
I beseech you il behave i promise

He stared at me with despairing eyes
The sound of the zipper sent chills down my spine
The seconds felt like minutes, like hours as he walked out the door
Are you coming back i screamed.. my last four words
No was the answer i sat there and cried.

ten mile jump

under the feet as they walk down the hall, hardwood floor squeaks creak's an imaginative mind flow's. White knuckled hands grasp the trim of the door, eyes slowly peek in the dark of the room. Frightened fingered hand flicks the switch for the light. Eyes slowly open as the door frame's held tight. Looks safe in the room, but the blanket sweeps the floor. Under the bed whats that lump in the sheets. Shut off the light land in bed, it's a ten mile jump of thoughts in the head~

Faith and Gratitude

When I was little
My Grandpa wrestled bears
Every Sunday
Out in the woods
Behind the small house
He built for us

At least
That's what he told me
And I believed him
For many years
Even after
I had figured him out

Nell

Your hugs are warmth,Your smile is hope,
For a young girl when she can't cope.
"Life is not always kind,it's not always fair!"
words of wisdom you impart, as you stroke your little girl's hair.
You are always her biggest fan,you are her greatest hero;
though I do not think you know.
You hold her through her tears, and you soothe away all her fears.
You fortify her, make her strong in mind, body and soul.
She is now a woman, molded in your very strong image,
Everything you taught her to be,full of love and great knowledge.
She should be happy, everyone says she is a great human being.
I guess you did succeed!
But she is empty and hollow.
Cause she knows where you have gone she cannot follow.

Boyhood -----Maturity

There was this young boy
who grew up fast to find no joy
street smart, work ethics made him wise
proving to family and friends much surprise
trapped in this spiral of child labour
reasoning with parents found no favour
after a seven year job fast
he had his freedom at last
young girls were his joy
running wild was he boy oh boy
rebelling was the answer to the law
this was his undoing as he soon saw
soon this young man became a father
learning to budget,shave and lather
the trophy wife at his side
25 years was all she would bide
now alone with his offspring
she the daughter the joy she bring
looking again for special mate
right now nothing on his plate
hopefully soon the gods will send
a lady that he will defend
at this half journey of his life
he knows he needs a wife
a union of two souls
who will eat from same bowl
this companion,this Eve
is the one who is to weave
the final chapter of this book
this road on which i took

About this poem:
This is about life's tribulations and adversities so fraught with possibilities at a tender age.what we choose so early in life gallops to a race that we can stop at our own choosing at any stage of our lives.

Life Poem

A baby is born, what do you see?
A baby dolphin swimming in our sea
Swimming and swimming day by day
After a few months comes time to play.

Playing and playing day by day
After a few months the babe puts on display,
Jumping and diving day by day!
What fun it is to see such array.

After a few months the babe has grown all bold and strong.
Swimming, diving, hunting with joy, living life day by day.

After a few months all settled and alone exploring the world is what should be done.
Meeting others and being with friends is life and how it could be done.
One day or more the time will come a baby is now something more
A parent, an entertainer, maybe a hunter too, in the end we find our purpose so they say and by then we do what our hearts have to say living life and living it proud.
