The Conversation That Never Began

From a distance I saw her
As she came closer I only said hello
We had met by chance once before
Long long ago

This time is no different
Is it a trance or a spell
And tomorrow what I remember
Of a story I try to tell

Our eyes meet the same
As they had way back then
And now my thoughts sadly linger
For the conversation that never began

Lonely Land

Mr. sun could you shine all the time
When you go down I sadly find
I must live in lonely land

Impossible for you to remain radiantly still
night time shall surely come again
With it's edging flowing shadows of chill
Where I must live in lonely land

The empty sound of quiet abodes
Knowing that it is in command
Moonlight points the way of the road
To where I must live in lonely land

~I'm Here~

I'm here somewhere, somewhere in my own world,
I'm here.
I'm here physically but not mentally, a place where I'm alone,
I'm here.
I'm in a place wondering where life is taking me,
I'm here.
I'm in a dream, a dream of wishful thinking that isn't going to happen soon enough,
I'm here.
I'm caught in this dream with a tear in my eye,
I'm here.
I'm not where I want to be in my dream, not by choice & not by chance,
but, I'm here...just here.

GOOD BYE

the wind it eccos the sound of silance
the song bird sings with out a sound.
the rain is dry as the children they cry.
and the puddles of dust cover the ground.
vulaturs there lurk and death gives a smerk.
for its life he has come to take away.
the ferrymans been payed so dont be afraid
sad but true ill alway be thinking of you.
shinning in a place with no voilance.
as the wind it eccos the sound of silance.

Have you seen the old man.

Have you seen the old man who walks the streets in your town,

fumbling for change in his worn out clothes,

have you seen the old man who scuttles around eyes cast down,

chasing empty crisp packets the wind has blown,

have you seen the old man who talks to shadows,

being shunned by children who tease and call him names,

have you seen the old man with string around his waist,

who never sees any sunlight and whistles the blues,

have you seen the old man who calls his home a park bench,

his garden is a meadow with screaming youths,

have you seen the old man talking to shadows,

picking through the dustbins for half eaten food,

have you seen the old man with grey empty eyes,

walking round the streets that he despised,

have you seen the old man who picks up cigarette butts,

shaking hands with strangers, for a light,

have you seen the old man laying in a puddle,

his words are soft and muddled his clothes ripped and torn,

have you seen the old man who has been forgotten,

left in the rubbish eyes cold and sodden,

have you seen the old man shuffling round in your town,

who hides in the shadows stinking of booze,

have you seen the old man crying in the darkness,

carrying all his belongings in his worn out shoes,

have you seen the old man standing on the corner,

waiting for a hand out from a friendly soul,

have you seen the old man splashed by passing traffic,

ignored by his neighbours because he's old.

About this poem:
This is a poem I wrote about the dispossessed, the vagrant, the unknown lonely soul who haunts the streets of anytown we've all seen them walked past them but how many remember them, we could be that person if circumstances were different.

Never Know

I looked into her eyes and thought I knew
But she covers her heart with a clever disguise
Needless to say I'm in the mood of blue

You never know
She's that kind of girl
You never know

She laughs when I'm not around
About weak emotions,oh the weekness of my mind
The chance that shouldn't close never opens
Keep guessing if she will ever be kind

With pen and notepad in her hand
She stays on the phone as planned
Which rumor is it now
The one to bring me down

You never know
She's that kind of girl
You never know

This one or that one
Turns out the same
If bitter is the tone
Bitter is the blame

Reversed once again and backwards is the pain
Searching in a circle what can I find
Keep guessing if one will be kind
You never know

Still Care

Young was being alive
Middle age was being somewhere
Older is trying to survive
And God I pray you still care

Gone is the world that was suppose to last forever
Noticed it missing in the twinkling of an eye
Didn't know there would be a date in time known as better
Until the moon and the sun gave wings to time and taught it to fly

Somehow I came to the place of here
While traveling on the road to there
Needing time to be of the day and not of the year
And God I pray you still care

Random Thoughts

Under the sun. Under the sun
The heat has burned our faces
Melting away. Melting away
Your bones all look the same to me.
Searching for rain
Too cool off the surface.
To wash away the pain.
Under the sun. Under the sun
The fire welcomes you.

If we all just closed our eyes
Would we ever see as well.
After the coast is clear
Will it ever be as well
If you had to tell the truth
Would you all just feel the same.
If you had to face the truth

Would you be ashamed
Would you be ashamed

Under the sun
Under the sun
Our bodies turn to ashes
Falling away. Falling away
Your legacies are laughable
The ground gives way
The ground gives away
The funnel under neath
Melting away
Melting away
Your shame all looks the same now.

No Where

The angles they sigh,
My baby she cry,
Jagged sharp ice
exposed from her eye.
Cold an alone,
Nowhere to call home,
Puddles of sadness,
On the streets she may roam.
Lifeless and cold,
Her bodys been sold,
In a slumped heap she do fold,
Gasping her last breath,
She finds her happyness,
But only in dark cold
DEATH.

A Soldiers War

He walks out of the front door,
and out the garden gate.
in his smartly ironed uniform,
not knowing of his fate.

He turns too the top window,
a small child standing there,
blowing kisses to her Daddy,
freckled faced, and long blonde hair.

He plucks a kiss from out of the air,
and places it in his top pocket.
Then flips open the picture of his wife,
he has in a golden locket.

A silhouette of a woman,
appears to stand behind his child.
He blows a kiss towards them both,
So gently soft and mild.

He stares back at the house till out of sight,
for one thing he is not sure.
Will he ever see his family again,
For he is off to fight a war.

One day he's happily playing Daddy,
With a wife and daughter he so loves.
The next he's dodging bombs and missiles,
being dropped from up above.

He finds his strength and courage,
By squeezing tightly round his locket.
And remembering that special kiss he caught,
Placed in his top left pocket.

Every day he'd write a letter home,
Yearning too see his family once more.
Confused and don't know... even now.
What all this fighting's for.

Then one day the letters stopped,
and tears his darling wife she shed.
As the colonel marched up to her door,
With sad news her husbands dead.

He handed her a letter,
Her eyes wept as it was read.
Then she took the shiny locket,
Placed it over her daughters head.

The letter said I love you both so much,
I've placed a kiss inside this heart.
Place it round our daughters neck for me,
So we will never be apart.

Take our daughter to the backyard,
And point her out the brightest star.
Tell her that's me looking down upon you both,
No matter where you are.

I'll sit up here, looking down on you,
until such time as when.
I'll know that i'll be able too
Hold you both in my arms again.
