Today's a new day
so let's start a fresh
dancing and singing
to a new wor-ld
(People say this
people say that
words get twisted
this way and that)
churning and burning
laughing and dancing
spinning to-get-her
falling head over heel
(people)chorus
hoping and praying
for a new day a
listening and singing
turning and spinning
(people)chorus
heart in a spin in
not up nor down
loving and giving
of the new day a
(people say this
people say that
words get twisted
this way and that)

You have the buildings
You have the sights
Like Sears Towers now called Willis Tower
108 stories and 1,451 feet tall
You color your Chicago River Green for St. Patrick's Day
You have two baseball teams
The Cubs and the White Sox
You have the Bulls for basketball
You have the Blackhawks for hockey
You have the Bears for footballs
My kind of town Chicago is
My kind of town Chicago is
People who smile at you
My kind of people too
Each time I roam Chicago is
Calling me home
Visit the parks
Chicago has over 500 of them
Visit the beach
It's on Lake Michigan
If you've got money to burn
Walk the shops of the Magnificent Mile
If you're short on cash and need something free to do
Visit the Lincoln Park Zoo
My kind of town Chicago is
My kind of town Chicago is
My kind of people too
People who smile at you
Each time I roam Chicago is
Calling me home

About this poem:
This is a parody of Frank Sinatra's My Kind Of Town. Went to Chicago with a friend this last Tuesday. We couldn't get out and walk around because his friend was out of town and he couldn't afford to park his car so we just drove around Chicago for four hours sightseeing.

Tears rolling down
To my lips
Rolling down in silence
Rolling for years
And for years
For thos touch
And a dream of
Touching your
Love-Lock
For a while in dark
In desparate desire
Of staying with you
Alone
For years and
For those uncontrolled
Wind
For a tiny moment
That says
Wanna wear my arms...?

If i could stare at you
Dripping like dew
If i could take you away
A town away new
If i could live the night
Could Only with you
If i could wake up next
Only beside you...

If You Wanna Come Near
Me
Come With A Smile
We Will Then Walk Togather
Togather A Mile
If You Wanna Come Near
Me
Come With A Style
We Will Then Sit Togather
Togather A While

Theres rain falling down
outside.
I can hear the world crying
tonight.
Maybe its real.
Maybe its in my mind.
Maybe im lying
im alive.
Are we alive?
Are we dreaming?
I feel the sky screaming
inside.
Anger and thunder driving
the light.
It'll hit.
It'll crash.
They can worry
we will survive.
The Ice cracks, fire screams
the world, its feeling again
and we, oh we, were standing
tall and alive
we all die
we're alive
we are dreaming
we're alive
Wind cools the heat
a calm thats needed.
Hear the quiet
take a breath.
Be steady.
Be ready.
no peace
without fight
no life
without death
no reason
without emotion
no courage
without fear
we are dreaming alive

About this poem:
How do you know your alive?
Do you know when you are dreaming?
Does it matter which is which?
Perhaps its all perception. Perhaps our dreams are just as much reality while we are in them.
And in both cases, it is up to us to live in them.
I believe this world is worth waking up too, and going to sleep for.
I believe this world dreams just as we do.

Where Where
Are You Tonight
Why did you leave me here all alone
I searched the world over
And thought I found a job
You found another
And "PPTTT"
You were gone

About this poem:
This is a parody of a HeeHaw song. It was a country comedy and musical show that was on when I was a kid back in the 70's. With all the people out looking for work in this new economy, I thought this would be a good song for them to sing.

Got no star in my
Sky
Am still looking
For you
With a desparate
Desire
Am looking in that
Dew
Some water from the
Cloudes
Am waiting for
You
I have desparetly
Cried
Am still crying for
You

Whenever it rains
I stand on my stoop
I look for a face
Wait for a sound
I wishe i could
Walk down the street
Made of goldem sand
Bathing in
Coppery-luner-lit light
Shrubs of love growes
All along my mind
I get back to present
Just to find myself
Again on my stoop
I wish i could remember
The evening was ours
We walked togather
Side by side
Nothing happens to me
But
Only your absense
Tread on me...

I
Grace is the sustainer of all life on earth
Every impulse to breathe, since the moment of birth
All thought of goodness and the will to achieve
Grace is the Giver of all gifts we receive
II
Being on this journey, there is much to contend
The voice of the doubter, the life to expend
And when the shadows gather, around and behind
It is then I remember, I am in God’s mind.
III
There have been mountains that have hidden the sun
And all my grand efforts have never moved one
And in such turmoil, when there is not even a clue
It is then I remember God has made mountains too
IV
In the dark hours, not a spark to be seen
When there is no helper, not a single human being
And as the ground shakes, so my faith and my will
It is then I remember, Grace is my Hope still
V
I have been through the waters and fires that came
And in such life’s complex, weak is my frame
And sometimes I prayed but nothing has changed
It is then I remember, God’s Grace is arranged
VI
Death, that great enemy, knows where I live
It seized of my heart, those too precious to give
And when my doubts rise, and a question or two
It is then I remember, Grace has taken me through
VII
I do not have the answers to the storms and the cold
I do not know tomorrow and what tale may be told
And in that dark passage, many dangers may lurk
It is then I remember, Grace knows its own work
VIII
And when I am broken and the winds gust and gust
And all of my resources have crumbled to the dust
And this is the season of earth's pale demand
Even then I will remember; I am in God's hand.
