been reading the difference between bull terrier and pitbull...who knew..... i'm dog blind...i thought they were all pitbulls. (only permitted in some canadian provinces)the part i liked best about your story was that the dog figured out how to open the window...
a friend of mine had a dog that figured out how to open the fridge.
we arrived back at their place one day...food everywhere.
torn up potroast on the floor, bag of bread open, everything from the fridge all over the floor. it was a real mess.
the dog looked up sheepishly...and the owner then exclaimed, 'weelll...i see you've made yourself a sandwich again".

I'm thinking the Staffie truly lived in the present. Staffie Past didn't tell Staffie Present about all the times Owner Past rescued her by the back paws during her previous seagull chasing attempts and Staffie Present didn't bother to inform Staffie Future about the hazards of being aerodynamically unsound.

In response to: I believe that our past is there to learn from and not to live in. We should help those who dwell too much on their past to not lose sight of the present, and help them to understand how to enjoy every day without taking it for granted. For the visionaries like myself, we look so far into the future that it compels us to strive harder to turn our dreams and aspirations into reality. Me personally, I want to help advance technology to make it more useful and accessible to all people and better their lives.
I like living in the present because we are not promised tomorrow. I do prepare for the future and look forward to it but I just try to make the most of each.
