morgen90210: Is it a rapidly changing world ...that old school ...?
In the USA, the government is head of the family today. It knows what's best for us and now provides for birth control through child care so both mom and dad can work 80 hours a week just to pay their taxes. This is sad IMO.

Hey, morgan90210, yep, I got the tattoo back in mid 70s when I got an under-grad degree from an older university in Ann Arbor, Michigan. (it's a wolverine though and they easily stalk and eat bear)
I refuse to be a victim of the matrix in which humanity has asleep and this is our wake up call ,wake up my brothers and take your morning blue pill as there is a lot of work to be done...

I think the man should be the loving head of the household, who makes final decisions while considering the needs, feelings and safety of all involved. Unfortunately, that kind of power was being MISUSED to the point where many women don't feel comfortable with that arrangement anymore.
Not in mine ........ As it is just my daughter and I ..... But if there was a man in my family .... I would prefer it to be 50/50 .... Two heads are better than one ... Yes
I believe the man should be the head of the house, unfortunately there not are not enough real men out there these days. You have the ones like my ex who twist it make it into "I'm the boss, listen or ill beat you down" and then you have the ones also like my ex who have no interest in raising their children or providing for them.
I'm the head of my house, I make the final decisions, I pay the bills, I put food on the table and clothes on their backs.
And to be clear I am not bashing all men just a percentage of them..I am aware that there are men who handle their business and I applaud them

almera03: perhaps then, I shouldn't have held your intelligence in such high regard
But .... Am I the only one to observe that so many men these days have more than one "family", by the nature of the family devide when there is separation ....
Hence my question ...
To me it made the question "Is man still head of the family?" redundant ...
PS. You may observe my intelligence but you can´t "hold" it!!!

Ur_Knight: Man has *never* been head of the household
The women just let us *think* we are In my last relationship... I was the head of the house on Thursdays (while she rested up for her partying weekends)

Its a good point..... it would also make it difficult for a man to take on a ready made family and to adopt the head position.
PS. I have no wish to hold it for real, as I have nothing small enough to keep it in
