rockrabbit: Not looking for comments as such just the numbers in the poll . Be honest,
Do you really expect honest answers in a poll (especially the last three)? I was, but that's me. I can't speak for anyone else. I've been told by several people that I'm the same online, on the phone, and in person. That's gratifying to me.
Are we talking drifting in the car, driving off cliffs, parachuting, bungee jumping, doing 90 in a school zone, or what? All of these would be enough to give a poor guy a heart attack!
I am Sassy here and in real life Linda. I tend to believe most of what people tell me. Unfortunately have been hurt a time or two because of it. But this is who I am and I am too old to try to change now.

You won't get any information of value from the poll. For one thing people can vote repeatedly offline, so I could go and skew your results right now.
Secondly, you're asking an emotionally loaded question. Its not socially acceptable as a rule to admit to being different online as you are offline because of the connotation of deception.
Realistically, we are all different off and online. When I communicate offline, I generally use the spoken word, I don't type out messages to people.
For me, communicating in the written word is an advantage. I have time to think, I review my posts before sending, I don't stutter, or get flustered.
Communicating in the written word is an aspect of me. I feel I'm more able to communicate accurately my thoughts in this medium. Which is the 'real' me? What is my truth?

I just use emoticons in what so many call "real life". It seems to frustrate the elderly, who have never used a computer before, but the kids love it.

That would save me on the stuttering and creative spelling, but I think I'd get flustered digging around in my bag looking for the right cardboard cut out emote for the occasion.
