My viewpoint is based on what I know or what I think I know!
I kind of believe in universal consciousness because of atomic structure and the physics of energy! We and all other things are joined together, inseparably! My mind and body are physically joined to yours if no other way, then by the atomic structure of the air and electrical fields around us! Like all the fish in the ocean are joined together by water, It explains why we know our loved ones are hurt or dead and a lot of other phenomena.
I also know the religious brainwash administered by those who would like dominion over us, and there's millions of them. For instance the fraudulent evangelists on TV bilking the faithful out of their life savings! The church of Scientology, the Later Day Saints, various sects of Protestants, Catholics, Islam, Judaism,the Mooney's, Buddhists, Spiritualists, Jehovah Witness, Church of Jesus Christ and the list goes on and on!
Each with it's own version of God and what He wants us to do!

We exist on a thin layer of crust floating on an inferno of hot molten magma!
There is a thin layer of air about a mile deep that we depend on to breath which is being polluted!
If we go a mile or so up or down we can't survive. Were surrounded by ocean water we can't drink!

Small particles of stuff like quarks are sailing through or bodies and so are magnetic fields, radiation and radio waves!
We are on a giant molten rock spinning at over 1000 miles per hour and hurtling at nearly 70,000 miles per hour around a sun hotter than a blast furnace and emitting deadly radiation.
There are giant rocks traveling at thousands of miles per hour streaking by us and any one of them could destroy us! Our whole solar system is hurtling at over 500,000 miles per hour towards some unknown destination or collision. We are travelling through a hostile void that's at about -270 degrees Celsius, or -455 Fahrenheit!
On top of that we have viruses and disease that kill us! Our food supplies are diminishing and populations starving!the ocean resources dying because of pollution and atmospheric change! There may be wars over fresh water!
We are simply like a fungus type creature clinging to hot rock travelling in a hell of a hurry to nowhere, yet we believe were special and protected by some mystical being called God! That's great because just about every country has their own version of God and some willing to kill the rest of us so their God is supreme on this fragile hot rock full of fungus shooting through an endless void! Whats wrong with Santa and the Easter Bunny?

Actually, I think it does matter quite a lot, especially when it comes to the easter bunny and santa stuff - it matters that the truth is given to our children, it really does matter that we dont mis-represent history - it is important for the future of our species as a whole,,, that the truth be told - that our children are furnished with the truth in order that they may decide for themselves which of the myths to live by - if people cant face the obvious truths themselves, thent they should live by the integrity (at least) to not bound their children with their beliefs and to afford to them the freedoms which have been all too diligently earned by the previous generations - give the children emotional freedom in order that they may perpetuate our species - yes, it is 'that' important.......

I believe that your consciousness exists after your physical body is gone and integrates itself with a universal consciousness! My best friend, my older brother died last November and I know he's still around sending things my way!
I was trying to rent some rooms for instance, and I had just finished burying my brother and settling his estate and the next day I had four people call me. Three of them Janice, Valerie and Lorry, my brothers initials J.V.L.!
The fourth persons name was Henry which is my mothers initial! Her three initials are H.V.L.!
I never got any other calls for 4 or 5 days! I think he and my mother dent me a message ...
Note ,,, now in the Catholic church they won't provide a church service / mass for people who die that are not register with or attend the church on a regular basis!
My brother lived out of town and was sick for over a year and I had his body brought to Toronto to be near our large family!
I had to get some people from a Catholic religious group that my brother had belonged to, to convince a priest in a church to give him a funeral service. To get my grandson baptised is the same type of deal, if your Catnolic and the priest doesn't know you , your out of luck!

What you say is partially true! IMHO! Where I think we need guidance is finding out the norms and things that are acceptable in our society. There should be some main source of reference that teaches every child how to to get along with each other in ways our society accepts.
Now it seems it's up to the parents to pass primary ethics and morals on to their children and some of those behaviours are not well tolerated in our society! If it were up to you alone to set your ethics and morals would any of us be safe or even survive? We must realise that there is something greater than all of us that binds us as humanity together and sets the ground work for our survival and friendly interaction. It use to be that the christian church was a gathering place for good people to decide what is acceptable based on the ten commandments but it's been corrupted by power seekers and many have lost faith in them!
