ynotleon69: good point. but what if you were the only one with reliable transportation?
nor likely I would be in a relationship with such a person. If he does not have a reliable vehicle or cannot afford air or rail transit he should not be encouraging an LDR. I simply would not get involved if it meant I had to do all of the commuting - sorry.
Having is own reliable vehicle and employment are are pretty high on my list of must haves....

employment was never mentioned. but thank you for an honest opinion. that may not be the same view as others, but its what free speech is all about.

yes what others think of my view on who I date means nothing to me. I can't imagine dating a man who does not have a car....I would not want to get stuck doing all the driving and transportation in a relationship
maybe that's an odd view where u are from, but it is a fairly common view here
just because one person judges a book by its cover, doesn't mean the next person should not pick up the book and read it. im not judging

and the question is only asking about how far, and how often you wold go out of your way for love.
3 hours would be the closest for me in over 5+ years!! I think I would be pretty excited about that, but I do not even expect 3 hours or 3000 miles. Just another 50 years to go it seems.

We're 9 hours apart, driving time. So far (nigh 2 years), either of us makes the trip as often as we can. That's been about half-and-half. Come vacation time, though, she typically drives up here, as I live near an airport and she does not.

Lover? Right? Whats 3 hours...!!! :-) I would drive everyday and anyway...there would be so many times I would be asked to stay over by default. What does it matter...in these days of commuting anyway ! Its scheduling work that would decide the drives ! :-)
thats a great question to ponder. ive actually been on this ride and my job allows me pleanty of off time due to my schedule. ive had some great outcomes by actually keeping the distance between us for awhile. it provides a lot of room for communication. as far as this site though.... noone replies. they are all pretty quiet so far. thinking i might give up and go to the bar..lol
