montemonte: OOPS....Never was good in math. I meant inches but according to weather reports the drifts are 6 feet and the downfall could be 9 inches. My bad
Wichita saw its second-highest storm snowfall total on record with 14.2 inches over two days, the weather service said.
6" is bad enough, we are still under snow here probably for another month before the big thaw
GUZMAN1: I don't know. Buildings must be prepared mainly, but people must be psychologically prepared and know what to do or not to do.
Here I'm far of the sea, I'm not afraid for tsunamies.
good point ...
since people have actually a short memory ,they tend to forget and relax after a few year without natural disasters I think we had the last one, back in 2010 , it wasn`t near my city, yet I felt it but didn`t want to wake up my folks and scare them

New Jersey, or even the east coast doesn't get earthquakes but about a year and a half ago, all of a sudden I felt the house shake. Seriously, it was shaking. I thought that must have been an awfully big truck that went by. It turned out that New York was hit with a earthquake but it wasn't enough to do serious damage, just enought to scare the beejezus outta me. To feel it all the way over to New Jersey is a big deal. Made me realize what people go through who are in 8.0 earthquakes.
pisceslady7: I have felt two earthquakes and not expecting another one at the minute. We have floods up north and fires down South and in the West. Sheesh...this time of year is a bummer!
I only felt once a soft tremble, no more than 3 degrees (as I knew after), and it awoken me with an strange sensation in me.

I don't know why people pays for an insurance. They all are what you wrote about them. In a few ocassions these companies offer much less than they are obligated to pay, and they first deny that the contract includes the damages you are claiming.
i lived in santa cruz ca in 1989 ... october 17th was rockin and rollin........ ok..... my car was rockin.... the ground was rollin.. i met the mother of my daughter because of that quake... no words to describe the fellings of that day...
yeah!!! nice video... thank god my car didn't do that. but watching the ground roll like a wave of water was intense. sitting in my 1970 GTO and waiting at a light... the whole car moved sideways 2 lanes. i felt like a james bond martini , "shaken not stirred"
