Having had 6 dates over the past month, not one of the men involved had put up a recent picture - and unfortunatly their' current' appearances hadn't improved. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not fixed on looks, but we all look at pictures for a first impression..and I find it highly annoying in being mislead in that.

Yeah. How about 20 + years. Even ladies change in that time.
jono7: perhaps sticking with the no photo profiles would prove less disappointing...?
I've never had a pic on my profile and it's interesting that, while around 45% of people also choose not to, I often find that women (who approached me first saying they found the picless profile interesting / funny / whatever tend to get massively strung out by the 4th or 5th message about the absence of said pic????
As for making an approach myself, I tend to be more interested in what a woman has said about herself in her profile ... and though not a prolific boardie myself, if I see intelligent, considerate or even well thought out / expressed controversial opinions on the boards I might be tempted to say hello regardless of pics.
Meeting ... yes, there have been some 'interesting contrasts between pics and reality'!!!!
But if a person is 20 years older and 20kgs heavier than their posted photographs (which was my 'worst case sceario one time') then they really are just wasting everyone's time and setting themselves up for rejection aren't they?
Its NOT 'so much' about their appearances as it is that they were dishonest in misrepresenting themselves in order to get the first meeting in the first case ... few people will will want to develop a friendship after being lied to, it's just not a decent foundation, is it ?

I, for the longest time, did not have a photo,....let's chalk it up to lack of self-esteem, and lack of a camera....but I strived to prove my "reality" and sincerity through words, and persistence, and an honest desire to get to know people,....I remained honest through verbage,....and now, that I have posted my REAL self (and yes,...it is me,....not Brad Pitt,....sorry to those who made that mistake) in pictorial form, I still try to remain true to myself through my words,......

SUCKS big time! One "gal" here,.....posted a pic,....and when I met here, it was IMMEDIATELY obvious that her pic when she was 98 simply did NOT reflect how she NOW appeared at 102!!! What a scam! What a lady!
Seriously, if when you meet they are not the pic they posted, simply go "WTF?" and watch them squirm! This is all about social interaction,....not homeland security or passports! Remember, life is what you make of it! ;-)

i'm just teasing on here, and gettin' it back in spades from Purr. i think there are many folks on here, without photo, that have most certainly let us know their 'reality' through their words, while others remain a mystery...with or without photo. i personally prefer seeing a photo, but have not let that limit me in the past from getting to know someone.

I know one thing for certain, when I used to put up those naughty face in hole pics, I got lots of views and loads of mail. People really are quite visual, all things considered.
Looking at the results 'so far' and assuming men n women are equally honest - it would appear that women are 3 to 5 times more likely to display out of date photographs across all age groups!
Seems they're naughty critters those beautiful descendants of Eve ?

Just teasing as well! But really, I never did post a photo for many months,...but strived to let people know who I was through my posts,....and yes, eventually I gathered the nerve to post a picture! LOL! And seriously,....the need for restraining orders has been relentless and never-ending ever since!!!

Heck if you're on here long enough, people have the same picture up for years!!!
Truly I've met some who looked like their picture, some that I wouldn't have ever recognized and have even had blind dates in the past. I think if you are open to simply meeting people that's what counts and if you're not interested its not the end of the world. Move on.
I personally feel that its better to have a current photo posted as it saves on the rejection process, but do admit that sometimes I've been pleasantly surprised when the faceless person becomes real.
Jun 4, 2013 7:04 AM CST How often have you arranged a date only to find out that the picture put up is at least 5 years old?

I've had several dates with girls who lied about their age - and in a lot of cases their weight too
Ironically being a bit older or a bit larger wasnt something that would freak me out. however I have a real issue with being lied to. in each case I turned up, told them i dont associate with liars and left immediately.
