Probably everybody has heard of the cloned sheep "Dolly".After the successful cloning of this sheep, scientists began cloning other animals and even brought back an extinct breed of cow by implanting a DNA cell into the egg of a living cow. There is now an entire herd of these once extinct animals.Scientists do have the ability to clone a human but should they?. Would you want to clone a deceased relative(Mother, daughter, etc) so you could have them back in your life or should scientists not even go down that road?.What are your thoughts?.
Definitely NOT! God created people to be on this earth for a limited time. If HE wants someone else to take their place, HE can create them. HE does NOT need man's interference with His plans!
BTW, I would NOT want my mum cloned! She is enough pain in my a#$ by being alive!!!!!!! I WOULD, however, love to have my cousin cloned!
However, I thin it's a good idea to clone extinct animals, to save their specie.
not until ALL of the Legal and Ethical Ramifications have been worked out! Besides, according to Scientists, there are still big Hurdles to clone a Human Being, regardless of some unsubstantiated Claims!

Okay if I order a clone of Alexis Texas ...and after a month or so got bored of her ,could I sell her ,trade her or is she entitled to half of everything I own ...

Good question.I don`t know what the legal responsibilities would be.Would a clone have the same legal rights as the original person?.Have to wait for the court decision on that one.

The scientific ability to create a genetically physical exact copy of a human does exist. What doesn`t exist is the ability to reproduce the mind and personality of the original person.I assume the latter is what you referred to with big hurdles remaining.
They would have all the same rights except that of their bodily organs. Those belong to "G.O.D." "Governmental Official Depository". To be sold to the one with mo money.
But it seems that if we were to actually create clones in a world that seemingly is having serious issues feeding itself and getting along than how is that sensible at all? What about countries that limit you to one child? Will it be one child and 2 clones? genetically sterile of course. It is feeling pretty strange all of a sudden. And sometimes things become dead for a reason. not always, but like Jurassic park movie I would not want to bring those back to life. yikes!!! Still no room for all this. What if we could put our intelligence in a perfect clown body. pun intended. If we do/ then we might forget how to procreate after a few hundred years... It may even become repulsive. And then what if we run out of new originals? copies of clones? bad business indeed. send in the clones

You raise some very logical points.Putting our intelligence into a clone is part of why scientists are considering the idea of cloning humans. At present, it is illegal to clone humans in North America but there are countries where this law doesn`t exist. It is possible that one day a scientist from one of those countries may attempt and succeed at cloning a human.Scary thought indeed.
sounds a lot like a movie i saw . some company made clones for a person who had a bad liver or what ever. that person paid a lot of cash for the clone and when his liver was to fail his clone would have the good liver so they take the good liver from the clone, and clone dies. clones for spare parts.that's what the world would come to.

Hi Stringman, been waitng for you.Ironically you hit upon one of the main reasons for creating clones. But I think you`re right about the spare parts comment. There is a company that is engaged in removing organs from pigs and then erasing the genetic code from them.Once this is completed they can then take stem cells from the person requiring a new organ, inject those into the pig organ and it will be compatible with the persons body.As I`m sure you know, organ rejection by the body accounts for many deaths of transplant recipients.By doing the procedure I described it eliminates the threat of organ rejection. This may sound like science fiction but I assure you it is very real.Once the procedure has been perfected then the scientists will put an application into the governing medical board to have it approved for use.
though this might be a novelty it is much more closer to a reality than when it was made. Think of technology that competes with organic cloning. SEE, I just added the word "Organic" and it even sounds more user friendly. So the other guys decide to make artificial organs that are sold to people that can not afford to have a clone grown liver. Damn, I should be selling this stuff. It will give you an edge and 30 more years that you thought you lost. We will take our merchandise back if you neglect to pay, written in the contract somewhere, you didn't read it anyway. You just want to live. And when it is a matter of living you will look past things you can not imagine. It's kinda pathetic, but it keeps us whole as a humankind race. Repo Man. Jude Law and Forest Whitaker.
soquiliquay: Just the smart ones. We have enough dictators and rednecks to last us many life times of laughter XD
You bring up an interesting point. In the event that the laws are changed for cloning humans, who gets to make the decision about which human should be cloned and which shouldn`t be?.

Maybe only from stock that just died, or will die shortly. Then quick-dried and frozen till the process.

Science now has the ability to clone humans.Should humans be cloned?.
In some cases yes, like some scientists, musicians, outstanding people.....and my Family
Cloning Of Humans Bio engineering is one of the sciences that have been for a while in the spotlight when it comes to the public opinion and the media. ..... Human cloning entails the creation of a different individual, a genetically identical copy of an already exiting human being.
Specialists also refer to the process of human cloning as artificial human cloning as natural human cloning does exist and are commonplace, namely the existence of identical twins.
Two commonly discussed types of human cloning can be distinguished, one of them being therapeutic cloning and reproductive cloning.
The first terms is used to describe the process of cloning in which adult cells are being cloned for therapeutic purposes and for their use in medicine. A common such procedure is the cloning of the stem cells which plays nowadays an important part in the research regarding potential cures for different previously incurable conditions.
Reproductive cloning on the other hand is the term specifically used to refer to the artificial cloning of humans.
Moreover, a third type of human cloning may be identified, though only in theory. This would be the replacement cloning which would be performed as a combination of reproductive and therapeutic cloning in order to replace a failing body......"

One would assume that if the law were changed to allow the cloning then it would be government regulated and money wouldn`t be an issue.Acceptance would be based on what the clone can contribute to the betterment of society.
the biggest question is ,will they have soul?and whose soul they will have if they r clone of someone still alive?
i think its against nature and all the ethics to clone a human.also it all could go wrong. What if they start (or may be they r already doing it)cloning some high ranking officials ?
i believe there r many cloning going on secretly under us gov.may be they ll clone soldiers of future too,who will kill without any mercy.
I think suuragates r better for the future and sience like space travel etc.but cloning is not ok.

Really?
At this moment, who can afford to preserve stem cells from newborns? Eventhough it is legal. Furthermore who are the ones whom (are or)will be using those stem cells for their own interests?
