Does it matter where he was born? Will it make him a worse or better leader? I personally could not comment on his birth cert unless I had seen it first hand. You can make anything look real or fake on the net.
In fact I would not know how a real US birth cert should look.

The part circled seems to be race? Not where he was born? Mothers race is Caucasian and fathers race seems to be African? The black line obscures some of it but you can see race in the heading of the word African.

I don't see how my mother could have survived the war without 'false' papers; that is, papers with some pertinent information to the climate, missing. You bring a psychological twist to everything and it can be confusing at times. Other people will probably have a problem with this because of their belief in ideas such as democracy. You probably don't have a problem with it because you read too many psychology books.
Putnam, Sen and Dahl would probably be better references to pull from in a debate on the need for open and transparent leadership in a democracy.
Answering your question, I believe that democracy is flawed basically because people are flawed. But I do think that people are progressing on this matter. All of them honest. No. Is it better than 30 years ago. I think soo.

Okay, I'll try to clearer.

I think you're mixing up the different disciplines of psychology and democracy. They're not mutually exclusive. One may have political beliefs and also have an interest in psychology. There obviously is a fair amount of overlap, however, both ways. Politics impacts upon psychology and psychology impacts upon politics - I'm not sure any place demonstrates this link more than the US.
When you say, 'a problem with it', are you referring to Obama's birth certificate? I'm actually wondering if the implication of your statements here is that if I don't view Obama's birth certificate as being the greatest evidence for a war being unjust, then I can't possibly value democracy. That would be an enormous leap of logic on your part, so shall I discount that?

I agree, democracy is flawed, but maybe for many reasons as well as people being flawed. Maybe its flawed because its not true democracy.
To bring in your point about transparency, the very nature of our 'democratic' systems is such that it would be impossible to have everyone informed of and involved in every detail on a practical level. I dare say it wouldn't be welcomed by those in power, either. The mere fact of omission would suggest a lack of transparency is inherent.
The question for me would be which transparencies are the priorities for a 'democracy' to function optimally?
The actual location of the birthplace of the president? Or the actual justification for a war where people are getting killed and/or living in hellish conditions?
