Trust me its not nice, could put a fella out of business fast not to mention its like walking into a nightmare bloodbath and the dogs or perps are nasty and snappy especialy around kids if they get away with it, they chop the sheep to pieces all of them.
This is Jacko at 8 weeks old. He was a rescue dog and I adopted him from an organization called, Pit-bulls Without Borders. These dogs do have a stigma attached to them because they have been abused in dog fighting. It really is in how they are raised though. Jacko is such an easy going friendly dog and a great companion.

One of our neighbors adopted a pit-bull from a rescue too and today I found out that the dog had attacked their 2yr old son and he had to have 5 stitches in his face. That dog was never provoked.

That is sad to here Ccincy, I have heard of things like that happening but also with other breeds and not just pit bulls. I am not just trying to defend pitbulls and I always have Jacko on a short leash when we walk. He is a big dog and people often get scared or excited just for that reason. I hope the child heals without a bad scar, having something like that happen to them at such a young age can be very traumatic for them.

I know kennn dobs and shepherds had a bad rep too. Then it became pit-bulls cause of what some sick people use them for.

Golden Labrador. They are such gentle, intelligent dogs. I had one for years but he stayed in England with the ex when I moved abroad. He died 4 years ago now.
I can't have a dog here much as I would love one as I'm out at work all day and often spend time working in other countries during the summer months.

LadyDiz: I don't even mind snakes...its the goggas (creepy crawly bugs) that I can't stand. I miss every animal friend I ever had, too.
Hi Lady Really? You don't mind snake? I don't mind the odd python but the majority of snakes we have here are venomous and aren't the friendliest. Bugs on the other hand don't worry me in the slightest, they're easy to squish. But those snakes, they're a different kettle of fish altogether, they're fast and sneaky!

Hiya Ken I got bit in the face by a jealous chihuahua when I was little so I agree that any breed is capable of taking a nip. Being bit never put me off for my love of dogs at all...been around all kinds of dogs, cats, you name it.

Hi Deb, I got nipped in the face when I was younger as well. It was Black Lab which are one of the more even tempered breeds. Tuned out it had been in an accident and I just happened to pet it in the wrong place. So there is always a reason for a dog biting someone. It does not always mean that the dog is aggressive.

i miss my doggies, Jacko is a cute little guy. I am sure you will take great care of him for many years. congratulations to you both!!
My favorite "breed". too hard to simply pick one. I Love my Boxer like crazy, even though he is gone. And I feel the same about my Australian Shepherd. Love them both. I never met either breed that I ever had any problems with. They are loyal to the very end, and so very much more.
Sunny143: Can a Border Collie be aggressive towards human???
Border Collie and Australian Shepherd is very similar and extremely intelligent. If they are in a situation where they see a threat to the "herd" "the family" then yes! They by all means will protect. When m ex wife went out and walked the dogs they were very protective about strangers.

I am sure I wont leave its side especially when it is outside on the road. And if a dog loves every stranger that he encounters, then it would only make the job of robbers easier. So I guess if a dog attacks a stranger, the owner of the dog should be held accountable, not the dog.He is accountable either for not training the dog or not controlling him when he attacks strangers.
Sunny143: Wow interesting,I don't mind if a dog is aggressive as long as it doesn't attack the owner!!!
The Border Collie and the Australian Shepherd from all that I have seen and heard are extremely loyal to their master under any normal situations. I imagine that if any animal was mistreated than there would be the desire for self preservation. But no, not ever hurt the owner or their friends unless there was a threat from one of them. I hope that helps.

Lovely dog,as you say, good company for your mum
I do think you would be even better with cuddling.
First dog I'm really attached to, was friendlier with our cats growing up. Unfortunately with work, travelling and where I live I can't have any pets.
