alexbay: Whould you talk to your partner about your previous relationships?
Yes, they are part of my past, as his would be. Communication and sincerity are quite important in a relationship, in my opinion. Sometimes, there are things that we need, should get out of our chests and, who better to do so than the person you are with?

In the early stages I think the subject has some relevance in understanding both parties and learning about each other. However, if one goes on about exes frequently, I suspect there is hazzardous preoccupation with old flames happening that doesn't bode well for attachment in the new relationship.
There's a difference between informational data and a constant barrage of old relationships being brought to bear on a new partner.

I agree with lonelygal but my x told me too much , i wish I didnt know half. I wouldnt give a 'blow by blow' I do think that hiding things is a huge block to intimacy though and having no lies/being economical with the truth is a huge Strain. For some !! As in, I am from Dublin, Ireland and its a very small place. :blushing too small, a big open aired Asylum and one big parochial Village, much as we like to think we are part of Europe....
If it came up occasionally in conversation I wouldn't have a problem with it.
But an ex is an ex for a reason and I wouldn't want to listen to a guy going on about his ex all the time (I'm so out of there then ) and wouldn't get the idea to do so myself.
