I was at the Uriah Heep concert (with Manfred Mann and the Blue Oyster Cult) on the evening of August 8, 1974. In those days you really got your money's worth, the first band on stage was Aerosmith!
I will never forget it, a truly memorable one ... It was the night President Nixon resigned!
You can't imagine the eruption from inside the huge Harrisburg Farm Show Arena when they made the announcement from the stage!
Can't class the as heavy, in any way, shape, or form. Great tune though.
Hi!
Nope definitely not heavy. Actually they have a hard sound but it definitely isn't metal, it's more bluesy!
Great song! I have so many fave ones but this is probably the one I like the most.
I saw Plant sing this and others on his solo tour years ago and I was at the front of the stage in a small theatre. Got really bad bruised hips after that one from being squished up against the stage but it was worth it!
musicfreak: I like most bands in the poll. Not really a fan of Iron Maiden or Deep Purple.
So good!
I saw Iron Maiden in Edmonton 4 years ago, for the first time ever. A friend of mine called me and said she had two tickets, and nobody to go with, so I was "stuck" going with her. I resisted at first, but gave in within mere minutes.
I think I would have enjoyed it more at 15, but it was still a great concert, and well worth going to.
Still like a lot of Maiden, just don't listen to it that often anymore.
I'm a huge fan of Ozzy with Black Sabbath, but the Dio years, as well as Rainbow and his solo stuff was as heavy as it got in the day, or even still to this day.
