so now u think that they are dead ? the trackers on that 777 were taken off ever before that flight took off and put on another plane.a fighter jet ok you might be right bout them folk maybe they are dead.i don't know ?? but if something is traced back to what killed them well that will be killed as a result of action.
galrads: I'm mostly speculating, like everyone else.
I'm thinking the case is criminal; piracy. I believe Malaysia is giving bad information, but may not be intentional.
I want all the passengers to be alive and healthy, but I also think the plane climbed higher than 45-thousand feet long enough for the passengers to suffer cerebral hypoxia (if their emergency oxygen systems were deactivated.)
Modern commercial aircraft are designed to operate at over 40,000 ft, the pressurised cabin would not affect any passengers, it's the engines that would be a problem as they would start to run out of oxygen. In fact the sister plane, the 737 is certified to cruise at 41,000ft and has a safety margin of over 10,000 ft

The pressurization controls on a 777 are in the cockpit. If it is on and the system is operating correctly, regardless of the aircraft’s altitude in flight, the cabin pressurization system will mimic the pressurization at 8,000 feet or less. If it is off, and supplemental oxygen is unavailable, then cerebral hypoxia is an issue.
Btw, the 777 is FAA approved to fly at altitudes exceeding 40,000 feet, so climbing to approximately 45,000 feet does not mean catastrophic engine failure.
Special Conditions: Boeing Model 777-200, -300, and -300ER Series Airplanes; Aircraft Electronic System Security Protection From Unauthorized Internal Access
Summary
These special conditions are issued for the Boeing Model 777-200, -300, and -300ER series airplanes. These airplanes, as modified by the Boeing Company, will have novel or unusual design features associated with the architecture and connectivity of the passenger service computer network systems to the airplane critical systems and data networks. This onboard network system will be composed of a network file server, a network extension device, and additional interfaces configured by customer option. The applicable airworthiness regulations do not contain adequate or appropriate safety standards for this design feature. These special conditions contain the additional safety standards that the Administrator considers necessary to establish a level of safety equivalent to that established by the existing airworthiness standards.
If it had crashed into the ocean there would have been a field of debris. It wouldn't have gone down in one piece to the bottom of the ocean. If terrorist had been planning this for a very long time they would have it all worked out where they could land the plane...building a runway in the middle of nowhere. I don't hold out any hope for the passengers in that scenario because I believe the obtaining plane was the objective. My heart goes out to the families who wait with broken hearts for news either way. Not knowing is truly torment.

What if the hijackers want to trade the passengers for some one(s) or something?
lifeisadream: It is a mystery. Could that mystery end up in a tragedy? Could be.
Is anyone putting bets on with the bookies in Vegas as to the eventual outcomes/ solving this mystery?? After careful consideration of most likely scenario, fuel ranges at various speeds, altitudes, including a hundred feet over the water, abilities for any 'terror group' to have infiltrated agents into the passengers, etc. I put a measly $100 on Al Shabaab and the plane heading for Somali as it's final destination. Odds were for this, about 5000 to one...I like long-shots...

Glatlol: Can you sink any lower in your bid for attention.
but arent we the public giving him all the attention by posting on this foot in the mouth thread.
We all know its in bad taste especially coming from an American and what happened on 9/11 as well. We have opinions of how it went missing, but we hope whatever happens we can at least find the plane and lay them poor souls to rest or safety. If there is a terrorist plot then security is important as we dont want another 9/11 or 7/7

This whole airplane missing has lots of suspicisons. Airplanes have gps tracking devices called transponders. Someone had to be smart enough to know where it is and turn it off. There are alot of possibilites as to what happened. If the plane can not be found, the best conclusion is that it sank in the ocean.
