That is indeed the way to do it Ladydiz. Just see it as a holiday where you're at least going to meet someone nice. Dont expect more. All the rest you just see it when you see it.

This happened to me on a rather domestic date, but imagine this happens on a date where you flew across half the globe.
Surely you would Skype or something before you flew halfway round the world.
lonelygal122: Isnt it wonderful when that risk is so worth it though?
I am so hoping so, when I can return to Scotland for my next vacation.
On a non-romantic note, I met a friend here who is coming back for a visit in October - we are going to see if we can find her a man in my neighborhood, well a little further south in Key West.

lonelygal122: Ooooh....best of luck in your quest Jean.
It's still an age before I can get back to Scotland - although for my friend - hopefully she will find a nice american guy - surprisingly enough there are tons of them.

CuddlingSoul: For me, if a good scene of humor is between us, that is the greatest indication of a close bond forming. Laughter promotes all sorts of pleasant chemistry, for the individual as well as for the couple.
skippyguy: Quite true, sometimes you have to take a chance !
Don't you think it is possible even if a romance doesn't grow to fruition that a friendship might develop - and who knows, she might have a friend who turns out to be the one special one -

A good point and i know i have instances of such, but in saying that it's also dependent, of how far things have gone, but waiting for a friend of a friend i think would be indeed VERY...hopeful

Also, I think people expect everything to be "instant" including attracting a mate. Instant soup, instant custard, instant love affair ! instead of taking time to get to know the real person in all their moods
true....that is not instant things nor miracle...it takes time to truly in love.........imo, it has lots everything to do with compatibility....... many good guys/gals out there, but not always fit for each other......
lots of ppl are getting older just waiting for "miracle" fall from the sky instead of building it.....
