MrRick77: Is their to many special days for Military ?
How many have they already? I know about Poppy day, that's all. They well deserve it though I think. Especially those who were drafted. Putting their lives at such obvious risk for their country and not just fighting the enemy. Those trenches were riddled with diseases, dampness, vermin. Some probably shouldn't be in the army, and may have joined for the wrong reasons.
Our servicemen/women should all be recognized. They put their lives on the line to defense and protect our country. I have high respect for them. There aren't enough holidays to honor the living and deceased.
chemistrymajor: People always ask why I wear the poppy, I tell them "people need to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom, lest we forget .
In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. John McCrae
Every day is a happy day when any military can use armed force to brutalize and murder people the world over. Remember the old saying: "Join the armed forces; travel to exotic, distant lands; meet exciting, unusual peoples and kill them!"
Perhaps there should be a Happy Armed force Victims Day or just a Happy Victims Day in honour of the Armed Forces...
The real holiday should be happy first responders day. unlike the military they work and sometimes die 365 days a year with no holiday. 19 firefighters died in a forest fire last year no holiday. without the first responders doing their jobs u wouldn't have a functioning military anyway. military ppl aren't murderers but they are only needed in war. first responders never have a true day off.

It's a very cynical view of our respective countries defense. Most of our military does not even carry weapons - they operate machinery, bring aid to troubled lands in the form of food, water, shelter, organized methods for people to be able to enjoy a safe voting atmosphere, create lines of communication to outposts, provide medical treatment and try to ensure peace with a presence of military might and bring criminals to justice. Often they are the presence to ensure that the healthcare workers can deliver the vacines, and medicine to folk.
Back in 1992 when Hurricane Andrew nearly blew threw Miami - the military was there, when Haiti had it's terrible earthquake, the military was there, when the forest fires burned out of control in the western timberlands, the military was there.
I think everyday we should say Thank you for our men and women that serve our country to keep us safe... I have my grandfathers discharge papers from 1923.... and a family of men that have served and still serving... And I thank you and yours also...

In Flander's fields the soldiers lie and silently they wonder why that when they still had life and breath their nations forced them to their death forever now they face the sky
by fire and lead and sharpened tines the cruelest fruits of evil minds the boys who lie there in the field were forced to kill, and then be killed. no accident, t'was by design
What makes the foreign lad a "foe" A boy they had no chance to know what right has anyone to say he should not live another day what monsters will it to be so
If truth be told the entire blame belongs to those who run the game the ones who organize the war and count their profits from afar whose souls are hardened to all shame
the dead do not cry out for war they are not angry any more If we could hear their voice they'd say throw down your guns and walk away life and love are what life's for

Leatherneck award winning Us Marine here.Should we be happy when humans kill humans? No.We are surfing the lower levels of hell now,Make believe we support soldiers, then dismiss them, deny medical treatment and worse. Folks,If Human beings don't see we are holy beings, not animals,we will have evolved a little. That's all folks.Greed, war, pollution and poverty.
My father served, my father in-law served. My brother and I served. My two sons served. I am thankful that we all survived intact and went on with our lives and families.
Many peopled. And now we have lists in VA medical centers ,actually two lists. And Vets being left to die.Because they are not on a list,This is a fact.So I don't buy into the hype.I am too busy surviving very high gas prices, lowered home prices IE Your VA loan has gone to crap.Did these vets serve to protect the constitution?????????Well its being shredded right now by false flags, and a president with a fake Birth certificut.Go figure
