I do think that political conversation has merit and I do enjoy a good debate... I like researching and checking my facts and learning about what´s happening... what I don´t enjoy is arguing with the person rather than arguing the issue... and yes, it does get frustrating when you have put some time an energy into a view only to have it ridiculed with a one liner rather then a discussion on what you have posted.

So much has been hashed and re-hashed that re-doing the legwork is a waste of time.
Sometimes one-liner's point out the obvious and are not necessarily ridicule.
HJFinAZ: Because the rest of the world finds it easier to blame the U.S. for all THEIR problems rather than looking at themselves???
You are thinking in the negatives. If US were not, the trade would look very different; because of the stable market in US all of the industrialised countries have had a partner to trust their trading with, a common currency to use and a place where to harbour trading offices and banking.
I am a little more than just a whiner here, I am seriously saying that the outcome of the election and the economics of US do concern not only me but many others outside US.
At the same time I am less interested in what the outcome do for you living there, in the same fashion as you are not caring the least for what we thinks about what happens there.
Still, we are both depending on the election and what follows. No way around that, and I do not call that blaming, it is crediting US for its importance in the industrialised world.
HJFinAZ: lived , not living!! The choices WE make..
Yes... 40 out of 48 years of my life... I started work and paying taxes at 15 years old and am still paying from overseas... that´s my social security benefits that probably aren´t going to be there when I hit 65 after paying in for 33 years so far... 15 of those being in the midrange 6 digit income bracket... add another 17 years and I will have paid SS for a total of 50 years... a hell of a lot longer then some who are citizens collecting.
HJFinAZ: MY fingers are in MY pie and MY pie alone!!! And it would be nice if the rest of the world would keep the gruby fingers out of MY pie..
Well tell the government that... and get rid of all your electronics, cars, food, clothing etc. that comes from other countries... all part of that global economy.

If this offends you… well…
Maybe, if other countries would fix there problems and not afford the world cheap labor and if OUR government did not allow for industry to produce goods in other nations and bring them back here to sell for a larger profit, the U.S. would still be the industrial nation it once WAS..............

Well said jbibiza. I agree and grasp what you are saying... I've seen epic wars in a political thread on another forum(baseball). And the moderator in that forum is really liberal with his rules. That place can be a warzone at times when things pretty much moved to ongoing personal attacks and totally getting away from the subject This int'l forum is my favorite for discussing politics. It's fun and very interesting. Some threads/topics in this int'l forum are extremely intense and an occasional argument is bound to happen. It's much better to by a spectator....that's for sure.

I agree Indy and see your point. I get your one liners all the time(almost) but I'm thinking that maybe others don't exactly get your Indiana humor

jbibiza: With all the distention and fighting that has gone on in the Political threads I´m just curious... has it accomplished anything? Has anyone actually changed any of their views based on what has been posted in the threads has anyone learned anything they didn´t know before...or has it just been a place to release our frustrations and bash on each other?
I think the people who mainly post there are political junkies and love it! I say if they are having fun, nothing wrong with that.
I have posted in there a couple of times, mainly just to joke around. It gets tense, but I think the main posters are forgiving, and can probably all go out for a beer after the election!

The threads have not changed my core beliefs....
Oh, I'd buy dude a drink. ( I won't say what) but a drink.
