I'm assuming a few days of flu here, or even just one bad day? I know when I'm feeling crappy I'd want him to play golf and leave me alone. I hate the whole world when I'm sick. A silently-delivered cup of tea before he goes would be nice.

Goes both ways, though. I'm not very sympathetic when he's sick. Manflu will NOT kill you, darling. Man up.

Sigh, been there, done that.
Did option 1) but the stupid hospital sent us home. She stayed sick and a few days later I had no option but to go back to work, but did ask a friend of hers to come by, and that woman did so, then called me to say wife had gone to nap. Came home to an empty house. On a hunch, called the ER, and yes, she was there. H1N1 She never did come home again. :(

Though not married now. There was a time when my wife had morning sickness from pregnancy. She felt too bad to get out of bed. I would place warm or cold washrags on her forehead, as she felt that she needed that. Temperature of the moist washrag needed, changed constantly from warm to cold, whatever temperature needed at any given moment. I remember that she only wanted dry toast in the mornings and I prepared and kept the same routine every morning for her, for about four months. Had to rush to work every morning to make it on time.

Depends. Do I have a booking today? Kick me out of bed and tell me to get on with it. Otherwise, check in, go to work, THEN make me comfortable and call the doc if needed when you get home.

Well, if you are a supposed dating website, while your partner is upstairs ill in bed, you should be outside in the back garden digging a suitable size hole to bury the ex, who you probably poisoned in the first place.

That way when anyone complains you cannot multi-task, you can tell them it's true, and display your charm and practical side by explaining the finer points of murdering your ex, and trying to find a new replacement at the same time.

Yeah, i bet lots of people will be impressed with that.

Oh i'm not talking about me! I have had three women try to nag me to death though. I've concluded i'm now a bad judge of relationships, so i try to keep happy, and if i do meet somone else i'll check the back garden for a hole if the lady starts picking fights with me.

OMG Robbie you're a Capricorn. They may nag you but I'm sure they love you and I'm sure you still love them in your own way.

Be honest, do you need to be nagged? lol frustrated

I bet you treated them with kid gloves if they were ill, flowers and all.

Oh no. Two women in particular i spoiled wrotten. Basically worshipped the ground they walked on. Did everything they wanted, even bought a brand new car once, just to ensure my Audi TT couldn't be used against me in an aguement when a baby came along.

I did everything, and i do mean everything, and ran a business at same time. In the end i asked her why she liked picking fights with me (which i didn't react to).

Her response was. "You are so whackable". Imagine a small feisty size 10 lady nagging, and hitting a 200lbs solid 6ft tall calm bloke who didn't fight back. Yeah, that was me!

Other relationship was worse, and practically best described as emotional cruelty. It seems the women i like try to henpeck me to death, so see if i will react (and i won't). I've never understood it, and never will.

Robbie, I think you'll have to do what we all need to do and 'Start at the very beginning!'

Nice women like to be cared for too and they won't take advantage of you either.

If a woman lashes out then you have to accept that the chemistry is very wrong.

I've studied psychology for nearly 30 years. I know the text from the books, but what i have trouble with is how i find a demure woman, and then 2 years later they have turned into a control freak.

I've even discussed it in passing with professionals, one of which said 'you have to consider the prospect that you wanted to be abused'. Garbage.

It's quite simple, i didn't fight back, so they pushed it further and further to get a response that they wanted and never got. They got frustrated by it. I felt it was insulting and was unsettling.

Short version, i'm a mad woman magnet. Last woman i dated from this very website was very nice, but had a temper regarding her daughter. When her child got frustrated with me, and i failed to react there was a tantrum. Words were said between mum and daughter, which resulted in a slap around the face.

My reaction was typical. I left and put mother and daughter first, because i didn't want to be responsible for more angry slaps, or ruining their relationship. Do i miss them, yes. But i put them first, and me last.

She would say "I cannot believe you are this patient and calm". But to me it wasn't important, because i was happy even when the young girl wanted to fight, to get attention. When i was insulted (in typical under 10 style) i didn't react, but her mother did by slapping her.

I was shocked, but instill think about them and wonder all the time if i did the right thing. Main thing is they are happy anyway, as my happiness is neither here or there compared to the mum/daughter.

Not quite sure what the issue is here. Surely if your spouse is ill, or really anyone for whom you care, you take care of them to the best of your abilities and means? Can't imagine the kind of person who would be so heartless as to turn their backs on an ill spouse....sigh

I was very ill with:

- a bad back
- a serious vomitting and you-know-what infection
- bronchitis

I was unable to get out of bed for a whole week on each occasion and....

Not once did I get any food, a cup of tea nor even a glass of water. I didn't even get a head popping in asking if I was alright.....

Needless to say, he's now my EX!!!

Whoever the next one is.... she's welcome to him!! grin
