to be honest i do not get that many messages, but when i do and things seem to go the right way, i begin to wonder if its all worth it continuing, for when thinking about it, what is the chance i actually move to Brasil, or my eskimowoman comes to France? and if your purpose here is finding a partner, not a pen pal, well,.......... what to do??
Dunno what to tell you, I get so little mail on here, or elsewhere, that it really isn't a problem to reply. Although, I am bad for replying in a timely manner, and still haven't replied to a mail I received a week ago already. Oh, and one from a month ago.
My purpose for being here isn't to find a partner though. Actually, I don't know what my purpose is here.

International dating site sounds like a great idea, but let’s be realistic for a short while. How many would give up their job, friends and relatives, especially when they have turned 50 and move to a foreign country without a social network? How many are able to learn or have the motivation to learn a new language when they’ve turned 50? The biggest issue would be finding a job in the new country; I’m not talking about an unqualified job. There are quite a few obstacles to consider.
As I see it, the other one has to be quite wealthy to support the other one!!
I’m sorry Rogerzoekt, but I’ve no advice at all for you, I can only wish you good luck here.

I agree with you, the other thing is when your over fifty is if its worth the time and money to get them to your own country, some would say yes, others like me the distance and problems get in the way,

Distance can be an issue, and can also be overcome, but it isn't easy or cheap. The biggest problem with that is whether either can stay in the other country permanently.

No its not, and to stay you have to marry them, here in Australia its easier for Asians to come here, or so I was told, and you can talk for months but when you meet you might not like each other, but your right problems can be overcome if the effort is put in,

Seems that the only ones they let into Canada are Asian millionaires.
I chose from the beginning to have my settings set in such a way so as not to receive mail from far-flung countries. For totally practical reasons. I do not intend to move to another country, and I wouldn't expect anybody else to give up their life to move here on the tiny chance of a potential relationship working out. So i avoided it from the beginning.
As for more local messages, I always answer them if they seem anyway decent, out of politeness. But they would need to grab my attention, to stand out, to warrant continuing the conversation.
