Americans will never give up their gas combustible engines. It would take a complete generation to exist without combustible engines before electric vehicles are the norm.

I wish your summary of what the transition to electric vehicles wasn’t true. Though, Americans easily gave up their huge gas guzzlers after fuel prices started climbing in the 70’s.
Maybe when electric cars can sound like, or close enough to the sound of the conventional engine sound I love so much and not like an angry vacuum? Yeah, that awful e-sound they're now installing on electric cars, is not good.

Yeah, the sound adds to their etron is laughable. The primary purpose is to let others know the electric vehicle is moving like in parking lots and swimming pools

Well... you definitely have a point there. Yes... I guess if gas prices skyrocketed to $10 a gallon electric cars would be economically feasible... but then the rich (and government) would have combustible engine cars and the middle class electric. The poor? They can take the bus.

Hmm, I dont even want to know how homeless veterans will fit in future transportation.
Are EV’s the solution for the future? I don’t know. You must do a LCA (life cycle approach) of it and then you can make a statement. A “LCA” checks all the stages a product goes through, from raw material to waste management. Comparing EV’s to combustion cars there is one advantage, the control of the emission. But the production processes are quite similar. They stay parallel till the motor comes around. What about the production of steel by the coal-fired blast furnaces ? The fine dust particle problem caused by tyre wear? The overexploitationg for precious materials used in the batteries?? .....etc. Let's not forget the booming of road constructions. Nowadays the hype of SUV on the automotive market . Those cars don’t even need a road to get were they want, the destructive impact of it is great. The growing world population will not make it easier! (Unless for the sellers: it are all potential buyers! ) In The Netherlands they are making progress with the innovation of solar induced cars. Will that be a final solution??? I doubt it As in the song "I love my bicycle , I love my bike...." (from "Bicycle race - Queen" )
It should be very expensive to drive a jeep through the city. We know how women love big cars particularly when grappling with the rough, pedestrian terrain of an urban setting. She just feels so safe.
Anyway that’s just the type of more money than sense we need to hit hard. Very hard.
