Not2seriously: I highly recommend the small can of Liquid Wrench, not much bigger than a chapstick. If inquiring minds want to know, the lock on your door (car or house) is sticky.
It shoots 10 ft and is absolutely blinding. You can only sneeze while you feel for something, anything, to get it out. Sand would do. It is far more potent than bear spray. It is not classified as a weapon, so use it judiciously.
What if they are wearing some sort of glasses? It would make things far more difficult, right? Otherwise it sounds very good. But what does it actually do and can it cause any permanent damage to the eyes? You don't want to get sued later.
Cranky_Geezer: I used to keep a Shillelagh under my driver seat when I had to drive through certain areas of NYC back in the late 70's. When I found out that was illegal I switched to a heavy duty spring. Not only did it have the same bashing effect, it can also rip the skin off someone's face at the same time... or so I'm told.
You mean because the spring has rough parts to it? If you have any assets you might be sued later and lose them. Something to consider. When you maim someone the courts look at it very differently from simple self defense.

No because the space between the coils grabs the skin... That was a long time ago, anyway...
