Must be 18. But don't know many places that would take you straight out of school. Some will go through training while in school. I have heard of that.

Could be. I mean I know that when boys turn 18 they are required to signup or enlist or what have you, because we've discussed it w/ my brother - still only 16 thankfully.
But I still dought they would take someone not yet out of school. I mean w/ all the issues w/ Americans being under educated and all. Doesn't make much sense to expect students to buckle down and study more and harder, but hand those that pass the physical a gun to go to war. Silly really.

ok...in your profile you say you have high school. If you do and you want to go back to do some upgrading (since you usually need your diploma or GED to get in)then do so.
I can relate to what you're going through. I was in a car accident too and he gave me an illness that makes it hard for me to fit in as well. Had to relearn some things and still have problems. I've been living like this for over 14 years now. However, I really don't care if I fit in. I am who I am. If people take issue with that, I got some padding they can pucker up to.
Go for it. Strive for your goals, ignore any negative energy that comes your way in the process even when it's hard to do, and in the end you'll be just fine and feel much better about yourself.

THere's three tiers for enlisting...
Tier 1=High school DIPLOMA
Tier 2=GED or equilivent, home study, etc
and
Tier 3=non graduate.
It also depends on the service.
Army and marines accept GED's, but the Air Force does not.
The Navy, as far as I know, is the only branch that accepts tier 3 applicants.
That may have changed, but that's how I remember it.

I am sorry if I am wrong, but somehow this story is getting more confusing with each thread I read regarding Wil58. It reminds me of the Casey Anthony case. Certain things just dont seem to fit. Maybe I'm just not that naive. 18 yrs old, retired military, never deployed, had an accident with ex doing 120 mph with her texting, hit a tree and she didnt get hurt, he got traumatic brain injury (and thats it), and now looking at returning to high school? People, C'mon is it just me that thinks this way? 
It is a sad story, but it just does not sound reasonable.

I agree, and do think Wil needs some mental health counseling after following his 5 polls, all about himself, in the threads.
I do believe he has had a brain injury accident and it has affected his mental stability, plus his age is a factor.
If he is a veteran I encourage him to seek counseling through the VA hospital system.

hawk69: Thats another factor, why doesnt Wil ever mention the VA or the government? If he was actually military and was injured they would be assisting him or should be anyway, but nonetheless, this sounds like a load of crap. People here always complain about liars, but a good sob story gets a lot of attention. What more heart felt story to tell could I dream up?

You've come a long way...if you're determined, you can go the rest of the way. I understand why you're scared...but you're a brave young man, and I believe you can do it if you try. It won't be easy, given your injury...but it's not impossible. Nothing is impossible.
