I didn't vote because both can be true. It depends...how long have you taken to get to know each other, and via what means? Online, IM, phone calls...and you meet, and the chemistry is there as well with this best friend who you already love? Then I see no point in waiting. Just met in a bar and hardly know the person's name? I'd wait...until both are sober and you know each other better. (Have I ever gone against this advice? How do you think I learned the wisdom of it.

Wait till you have ay least had a drink with them, as in one drink....i have never managed to chase after anyone and mount them in less time than it takes to drink a pint of cider or beer.
